Jonathan India is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Rockies.
India has really struggled as of late, and is hitting just .195/.298/.244 on the 2025 campaign. He’ll get a break with Cavan Biggio lined up at second base in India’s absence. Michael Massey has also scuffled and will take a seat, with Maikel Garcia playing third.

José Fermín hit his first career homer, a two-run shot off Jesse Chavez, to lead the Cardinals past the Braves 5-4 on Sunday.
Fermín’s homer in his 159th plate appearances since debuting with the Cardinals in 2023. It’s his ability to make contact that has him in the majors, and he’s gone 7-for-18 with a 2/2 K/BB in his 10 appearances this season. St. Louis, though, might send him down when Jordan Walker comes off the IL.
Players to watch in MLB All-Star Futures Game
James Schiano spotlights the rising stars to watch in this weekend's 2025 All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #54
Sonny Gray allowed one run over three innings and struck out five in a rain-shortened outing against the Braves on Sunday.
It looked like this was going to be a really good one for Gray, who already had nine whiffs and got through three innings on just 36 pitches. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. Gray ends the first half 9-3 with a 3.50 ERA and a 118/19 K/BB in 108 innings. The short outing probably means he’ll start the Cardinals’ first game back after the break against the Diamondbacks on Friday.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #56
Ryan Helsley tossed a scoreless ninth with a one-run lead for a save Sunday against the Braves.
Helsley gave up a walk and a single to start the inning, but he rebounded to retire Matt Olson, Ronald Acuña Jr. and Sean Murphy. It was his 19th save in 24 opportunities.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #58
Making his first start for the Braves, Davis Daniel surrendered one run in four innings Sunday against the Cardinals.
Daniel came back out after the first rain delay in the third inning but not following the second in the fifth. He might have been done even if not for that second delay, as the Braves wouldn’t have expected to approach 90-100 pitches after sitting around for over an hour. The solid effort should keep Daniel around in the rotation after the break. If he remains in the rotation, he’d probably face the Giants next Monday or Tuesday.
  • STL Catcher #40
Willson Contreras had a game-tying two-run double in the fifth inning of Sunday’s game against the Braves.
This was an odd day for Contreras; he had a flyout on a 109.1-mph missile with a .980 xBA and a double on a 78.6-mph flyball with a .040 xBA. That double surely would have been caught by Ronald Acuña Jr. under normal circumstances, but because the field was wet after two delays and he had an infielder closing in on him as he ran in, the ball dropped.
  • ATL Left Fielder #7
Jurickson Profar finished 3-for-5 with an RBI against the Cardinals on Sunday.
It could have been a four-hit day for Profar, but the official scorer ruled an error on Gordon Graceffo for missing first base while covering on Profar’s grounder in the seventh. We approve, but given that there was no drop of the ball or missed catch, that’s the type of thing that tends to go as a hit.
  • PHI Catcher #10
J.T. Realmuto smacked a two-out, go-ahead RBI double off of David Morgan in the eighth inning on Sunday, propelling the Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the Padres in San Diego.
Relamuto’s run-scoring double snapped a 1-1 tie and proved to be enough for the Phillies to eke out a one-run victory. The 34-year-old backstop also singled in the ballgame, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4. He finishes the first half of the season hitting .268/.324/.381 with five homers, 32 RBI and five stolen bases in 299 plate appearances.
  • PHI 1st Baseman #3
Bryce Harper went 1-for-3 with a double, walk and a pair of runs scored as the Phillies eked out a one-run victory over the Padres on Sunday afternoon.
The 32-year-old slugger drew a two-out walk off of Nick Pivetta in the first inning, advanced on an error and ultimately scored on a throwing error by Luis Arraez. Harper also doubled off of Adrian Morejon in the eighth inning and scored the go-ahead run on J.T. Realmuto’s two-out RBI double. Harper finishes the first half of the season hitting .261/.374/.451 with 10 homers, 35 RBI and nine stolen bases in his first 302 plate appearances.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #25
Matt Strahm picked up his sixth save of the season on Sunday afternoon, working a scoreless ninth inning to protect a one-run lead against the Padres.
Orion Kerkering came on with one out in the eighth inning and worked through some trouble before escaping with the lead intact. Strahm then took over in the ninth and made things interesting as well, issuing a leadoff walk to Jake Cronenworth who was then sacrificed to second base. Strahm then got Elias Diaz to pop out foul to third base for the second out. He walked Fernando Tatis Jr. intentionally and then retired Luis Arraez on a fly ball to left field to end it. The 33-year-old southpaw finishes the first half with a 3.29 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 44/12 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings to go with six saves and a victory.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #61
Christopher Sánchez delivered another strong performance in Sunday’s victory over the Padres, racking up six strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings of one-run baseball.
The 28-year-old southpaw scattered six hits and three walks on the afternoon. The lone blemish on his day came on an RBI single off the bat of Jose Iglesias in the seventh inning. Sánchez got 14 swings and misses on 86 pitches in the ballgame — 10 of those on his excellent changeup — while registering an elite CSW of 37 percent. He finishes the first half of the season with a brilliant 8-2 record, 2.50 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 122/32 K/BB ratio over 115 frames through his first 19 starts.
