  • PHI Relief Pitcher #74
Phillies claimed RHP Ryan Cusick off waivers from the White Sox.
Cusick heads to his fourth different organization since May 27. The 25-year-old prospect has been a hot commodity on waivers since being designated for assignment by the Athletics a couple weeks ago, spending time briefly with the Tigers and White Sox as well.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #57
Phillies designated RHP Kyle Tyler for assignment.
Tyler hasn’t pitched in the majors isnce making a career-high eight appearances (seven starts) last year for the Marlins. The 28-year-old righty is a strong bet to pass through waivers unclaimed and remains with the Phillies at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #38
Royals sent RHP Thomas Hatch outright to Triple-A Omaha.
Hatch went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 30-year-old righty didn’t end up making an appearance for Kansas City during his brief stint with the club.
  • LAA Right Fielder #12
Jorge Soler (groin) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Mariners.
Soler will sit out Sunday’s series finale after aggravating a lingering groin issue during Saturday’s contest. The 33-year-old veteran slugger might be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, but he’s going to get some extra time off to put the issue to bed. It’ll be super-utility specialist Chris Taylor taking over in right field on Sunday afternoon.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Cal Raleigh is not in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Angels.
It’s a well-earned break for Raleigh, who launched two more round-trippers on Friday night to extend his major league-leading total to 26 home runs through 63 games. The 28-year-old slugging backstop is on pace to easily eclipse the 40-homer mark for the first time in his career. It’ll be Mitch Garver handling the catching duties on Sunday afternoon in his place.
  • SEA Center Fielder #44
Julio Rodríguez (ankle) is in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Angels.
Rodríguez, who is back in center field and batting second on Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Park, managed to avoid serious injury after being struck on the right ankle during Saturday’s contest by a 98-mph one-hopper off the bat of teammate Randy Arozarena while attempting to steal third base. The 24-year-old superstar outfielder underwent precautionary X-rays that came back negative for any fractures. It doesn’t appear that he’s going to miss any time moving forward, which is a relief for fantasy managers.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #33
White Sox signed LHP Tyler Anderson to a one-year, $760,000 contract.
Alexander heads to the Windy City ahead of Sunday’s game against the Royals to provide a rebuilding Chicago club with an experienced left-handed swingman option. He ended up on the free agent wire earlier this week shortly after being removed from Milwaukee’s roster. The 30-year-old southpaw has recorded a pedestrian 6.19 ERA across 36 1/3 innings (21 appearances, four starts) this season in the big leagues.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #51
White Sox placed LHP Jared Shuster on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 5, with a blister.
Shuster heads to the shelf after compiling an underwhelming 8.04 ERA across 15 2/3 innings (12 appearances, two starts) in a long relief role for Chicago. He’ll likely be back in a couple weeks.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #55
White Sox transferred LHP Fraser Ellard to the 60-day injured list.
The procedural move frees up a spot on Chicago’s 40-man roster for veteran southpaw Tyler Anderson. Ellard hit the injured list back in early May with a lat strain. There is not timetable for his return.
