  • ARI Center Fielder #5

Alek Thomas is starting in center field and batting seventh for the Diamondbacks on Thursday against the Marlins.
Thomas has also started four of the last five and seems to have wrestled away the starting job from Jake McCarthy pretty firmly for now. Thomas is just 24 years old and is a former top prospect, so it makes sense for Arizona to continue to give him a chance to play full-time. So far, he’s hitting .308/.364/.462 in 44 plate appearances with 10 RBI and two steals. He seems to have a slightly more aggressive approach this season, pulling and barreling the ball more often, which could make him an intriguing fantasy asset for batting average and steals.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #8

Rays placed INF Brandon Lowe on the 10-day injured list with left oblique tightness.
Players to watch in MLB All-Star Futures Game
James Schiano spotlights the rising stars to watch in this weekend's 2025 All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta.
  • ARI Center Fielder #7
Corbin Carroll is not in the lineup for Friday’s game against the Angels.
Carroll is getting a day of maintenance to open the three-game series against Los Angeles. He’ll rest with Randal Grichuk getting a start in right field against left-hander Tyler Anderson.
  • NYM 1st Baseman #29
Mets recalled INF Jared Young from Triple-A Syracuse.
Young will be a bench option for the Mets after Jesse Winker was placed on the 10-day injured list with back inflammation.
  • NYM Left Fielder #3
Mets placed OF Jesse Winker on the 10-day injured list with back inflammation.
Winker left Thursday’s game against the Orioles with tightness in his back, and further testing revealed the inflammation. The 31-year-old will be out through the All-Star break at least, and then could be back — assuming no setbacks — near the end of July.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #60
Mariners recall Tayler Saucedo from Triple-A Tacoma.
Saucedo is up with Carlos Vargas unavailable after being placed on the paternity list. He’s unlikely to work as anything more than a middle-inning option while he’s in Seattle.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #54
Mariners placed RHP Carlos Vargas on the paternity list.
Vargas will be away from the team for up to three days while he welcomes a new member to his family. Tayler Saucedo will rejjoin the Seattle bullpen in a corresponding move.
  • BOS Center Fielder #19
Roman Anthony is not in the starting lineup for Friday’s bout against the Rays.
Anthony will get the first game of the series against Tampa Bay off even with right-hander Drew Rasmussen on the mound. He’ll sit with Wilyer Abreu playing right field and and Masataka Yoshida the designated hitter.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #48
Red Sox optioned RHP Isaiah Campbell to Triple-A Worcester.
Campbell hits the minors after the Red Sox activated Hunter Dobbins off the 15-day injured list for his start Friday. Campbell could get another chance before the end of the year in a low-leverage role.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #73
Red Sox activated RHP Hunter Dobbins off the 15-day injured list.
Dobbins is back to make a start against the Rays on Friday. The right-hander looked good in his rehab outing Saturday, and has had some success at the highest level. He’s worthy of streaming consideration.
  • BOS 3rd Baseman #2
Red Sox activated INF Alex Bregman off the 10-day injured list.
As expected, Bregman is back for the weekend series against the Rays after missing six weeks with his quad strain. The third baseman is expected to play in two games this weekend, and Friday will be one of them with Bregman lined up at third base and hitting second. Bregman should be back in fantasy lineups now that he’s back for Boston.
