  • BAL Shortstop #2

Gunnar Henderson, who had led off in all of his appearances this season, has swapped lineup spots with Jordan Westburg and is hitting fourth Tuesday.
This might be a response to the Orioles facing a lefty, though Henderson did lead off the previous time that happened. Henderson is hitting just .206/.229/.294 in eight games since returning from an intercostal strain, but since that’s come with a 67 percent hard-hit rate, there doesn’t seem like any reason for concern. The Orioles also have Jorge Mateo, Ramón Laureano and Gary Sánchez starting versus Logan Allen tonight, resulting in Jackson Holliday, Heston Kjerstad and Ryan O’Hearn all sitting.

Red Sox optioned RHP Richard Fitts to Triple-A Worcester.
The decision shifts fellow prospect Hunter Dobbins back into Boston’s rotation. Fitts will continue building up his pitch count in the minors in the wake of Monday’s disastrous outing against the Angels at Fenway Park when he was torched for six runs in his lone inning of work. The 25-year-old righty has pitched well this season overall, but the club clearly rushed him back too quickly from the injured list. He should return to the big leagues in a couple weeks once he’s had a chance to iron things out in Worcester.
Blue Jays getting boost with Gimenez returning
With Andres Gimenez rejoining the Blue Jays lineup, Eric Samulski still sees value with the second baseman, particularly in stolen bases, and breaks down how his return affects the current lineup.

Red Sox placed RHP Nick Burdi on the 15-day injured list with a right foot contusion.
Burdi suffered the injury while covering first base during Monday’s showdown against the Angels and is going to miss a couple weeks. The 32-year-old middle reliever has tossed 5 1/3 scoreless frames over four appearances this season for the Red Sox.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #31
Max Scherzer (thumb) faced hitters on Tuesday in a two-inning live batting practice session.
MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson adds that Scherzer is on track to pitch in game action later this week either in a simulated contest or a Rookie-level Florida Complex League game before progressing to facing higher-level competition. Barring any setbacks, it’s theoretically possible Scherzer could make it back to Toronto’s rotation before the end of June.
  • COL Shortstop #14
Ezequiel Tovar (oblique) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Marlins.
Tovar will get some extra time off the rest after making an early exit from Monday’s series opener with discomfort in his left side around his ribs. It’ll be Orlando Arcia taking over at shortstop in his absence. He’ll presumably undergo further evaluation and testing to determine whether he’s dealing with an oblique strain. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Tigers.
White Sox manager Will Venable told reporters Robert is getting extra time off to work through his recent struggles and focus on making adjustments. The 27-year-old has gone into a complete tailspin at the dish of late, hitting .154 (8-for-52) with a whopping 19 strikeouts over his last 15 games. Hopefully the extra time off enables him to turn things around and build up his appeal as a potential trade deadline target.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #50
Kutter Crawford (knee) has been pulled off his minor league rehab assignment due to right wrist pain.
Crawford’s rehab assignment, which was expected to begin this week, isn’t happening. He’s headed back to Boston to undergo further testing. The only positive here is that the new issue is unrelated to the knee issues he’s been battling since last year. There should be an update on his status at some point later this week.
  • SF 1st Baseman #88
The San Francisco Chronicle’s Susan Slusser reports the Giants are promoting 1B/OF prospect Bryce Eldridge to Triple-A Sacramento.
Eldridge is one of the most compelling power-hitting prospects in the fantasy landscape and projects as a potential middle-of-the-order run-producer once he reaches the big leagues. The 20-year-old prodigy missed time at the outset of the season due to a wrist injury, but he hasn’t skipped a beat since returning at Double-A Richmond, hitting .280/.350/.512 with seven homers across 34 games. He blazed through four levels in San Francisco’s system last year to finish on the doorstep of the majors. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him earn a trip to the big leagues at some point in the second half.
  • NYY Left Fielder #24
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Jasson Domínguez (thumb) remains day-to-day, but is feeling better.
Domínguez is absent from Tuesday’s lineup and could wind up missing a couple additional contests this week after making an early exit from Sunday’s series finale against the Dodgers with swelling in his left thumb.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #38
Padres recalled RHP Ryan Bergert from Triple-A El Paso.
Bergert draws the starting assignment for Tuesday’s showdown against the Giants at Oracle Park. The 25-year-old righty is not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes, but he’s looked sharp this season at the highest level, reeling off four scoreless relief appearances. It’ll likely be a one-and-done spot start for Bergert on Tuesday night.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #72
Padres optioned RHP Bradgley Rodriguez to Triple-A El Paso.
Rodriguez returns to the minors after tossing 1 2/3 scoreless innings over the weekend against the Pirates in his big-league debut. The 21-year-old righty was promoted directly from Double-A San Antonio after 18 strong relief appearances. He figures to return at some point later this summer.
