George Springer (wrist) is absent from the lineup for Monday’s game against the Braves.

No surprise here after Springer was pulled from Sunday’s series finale against the Orioles with left wrist discomfort. The 35-year-old veteran outfielder is day-to-day after X-rays came back negative for any fractures. He’ll presumably get a couple days to rest and recover before returning to Toronto’s lineup. It’ll be Myles Straw in center field on Monday night.

Grisham’s home run was his 19th of the season. The 28-year-old outfielder blasted a three-run home run off Valente Bellozo to put the Yankees ahead 9-4 in the seventh inning. Grisham continues what’s a career-year in some ways. His 19 home runs and .250 average (min. 300 at-bats) are both career-highs.

Stanton started the scoring of what would be a 13-12 game with a three-run home run in the fourth inning. The 35-year-old continues to DH, though the plan is for him to play right field when Aaron Judge returns from the injured next week. All nine of Stanton’s home runs this year have come in his last 21 games. He’s hitting .267 with an .862 OPS and 26 RBI this year.

Kyle Stowers went 1-for-5 with a grand slam against the Yankees on Friday.

Stowers’ grand slam was his 24th of the year. The 27-year-old outfielder’s grand slam off Jake Bird in the seventh inning pulled the Marlins to within a run. He has a hit in 13 of his last 15 games and is hitting .396 over that span. Stowers is hitting .297 with a .949 OPS and 67 RBI on the year.

Jake Bird allowed four runs in his first appearance with the Yankees against the Marlins on Friday.

The Yankees led 9-4 in the seventh inning before turning the gave over to Bird, who was making his first appearance for the Yankees since being acquired before Thursday’s trade deadline. Bird allowed a grand slam to Kyle Stowers, which got the Marlins back in the game. David Bednar and Camilo Doval followed Bird with each entering the ballgame with the lead and being charged with a blown save. The Yankees’ new bullpen acquisitions all fell flat in their debuts.

Junk gave up six hits, walked one and struck out four. The 26-year-old right-hander then allowed a solo home run to Freddie Freeman in the fifth inning. Baz has a 4.79 ERA and 124/46 K/BB ratio in 124 innings this year. He’s lined up to face the Angels on the road next week.
