Andrew Abbott yielded one run over five innings on Saturday in a win over the Pirates.
Abbott struck out five and issued a pair of walks in his season debut after missing the early portion of the regular season making his way back from last year’s shoulder injury. He carried a shutout into the fifth inning before coughing up a solo blast to Alexander Canario, which represented the lone tally against him. He’ll square off against the Orioles on Friday in his next outing.

Chad Patrick will make a bulk relief appearance on Saturday against the Phillies.
It’ll be lefty reliever Rob Zastryzny taking the ball for an opener appearance before passing the metaphorical baton to Patrick for a multi-inning outing. The 26-year-old rookie holds a respectable 2.97 ERA across 57 2/3 innings (12 appearances, 11 starts) this season in his first taste of the majors.
Palencia 'asserts himself' as Cubs closer
Daniel Palencia has four saves in his last four appearances, and James Schiano examines how the 25-year-old flamethrower has officially asserted himself as the Chicago Cubs closer moving forward.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #32
Chase Dollander (forearm) faced hitters earlier this week in a live batting practice session.
Dollander has been on the shelf since mid-May due to right forearm tightness. Rockies interim manager Warren Schaeffer told reporters Friday that the 23-year-old top prospect “looked good” during the session, which took place on Tuesday at Wrigley Field. He remains without a definitive return timetable, but fantasy managers should anticipate Dollander being ready to return to Colorado’s rotation by the end of June, if not sooner.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman #47
Addison Barger is batting third on Saturday against the Athletics.
Barger has been bumped up to the heart of Toronto’s lineup, with veterans George Springer and Daulton Varsho moved down to accommodate the move, after going 4-for-5 with a homer during Friday’s slugfest at the Rogers Centre. The 25-year-old prospect has been a revelation this season for the Blue Jays, hitting .299/.370/.495 with three homers, 12 RBI and one steal over his last 30 games. He’s deserving of a roster spot for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues.
  • CIN Catcher #37
Tyler Stephenson is batting cleanup on Saturday against the Cubs.
Stephenson has been moving steadily up Cincinnati’s lineup card in recent days as he continues to swing a hot bat, hitting .385/.467/.808 with three homers and seven RBI over his past seven games. It’s admittedly a small sample size, but the 28-year-old backstop has looked locked-in at the dish after missing time to open the year with an oblique strain that he suffered back in spring training.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #32
Ben Brown will make a bulk relief appearance on Saturday against the Reds.
It’ll be veteran lefty Drew Pomeranz opening Saturday’s contest at Wrigley Field as the Cubs attempt to solve some of Brown’s issues in the early stages of outings. The 25-year-old righty figures to be jettisoned from Chicago’s starting rotation once Shota Imanaga (hamstring) is ready to return in a couple weeks. He’s struggled to a bloated 6.39 ERA across 11 appearances (10 starts) this season and is not a recommended option for fantasy purposes.
  • FA 2nd Baseman #2
Josh Harrison has retired from professional baseball after 13 seasons.
Harrison, who made the official announcement on his personal X account, hangs up his cleats after a 13-year career that spanned 1,208 games since 2011 and included stints with the Pirates, Nationals, White Sox, Athletics, Phillies and Tigers. The 37-year-old was a two-time All-Star Game selection. He was in camp last year with the Reds, but didn’t make the club’s season-opening roster, and didn’t play professionally last season.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #44
Royals promoted LHP Rich Hill to Triple-A Omaha.
Hill will make his next minor league appearance at the Triple-A level after striking out 13 batters over eight innings in a pair of starts in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The 45-year-old southpaw is attempting to write another chapter in his tumultuous career by making it back to the big leagues for a potential 21st season. There’s zero fantasy relevance at this juncture of his two-decade odyssey in professional baseball, but it’s a remarkable story.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #57
Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) posted nine strikeouts and allowed four runs — three earned — over 4 2/3 innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
No word on the pitch count, which isn’t included in the league’s box scores. However, the important variable here is that Rodriguez got through the rehab outing without any issues and appears poised to rejoin Arizona’s rotation, possibly as early as next week. His return would likely bump Ryne Nelson, who has been pitching outstanding of late, back to the bullpen.
  • TEX Left Fielder #32
Evan Carter (quad) went 0-for-3 on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Round Rock.
Carter played six innings in center field to kick off his rehab assignment as he works his way back from a quad strain that he suffered back in mid-May. The 22-year-old is likely to require a handful of additional contests before he’s ready to rejoin Texas’ lineup.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #63
Braydon Fisher will start on Saturday against the Athletics.
Fisher will make his first career start after reeling off 8 1/3 scoreless frames over seven relief appearances for Toronto since being promoted to the majors back on May 7. He’s not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes, but it’s notable that he’s being given a more prominent role after some early-career success.
