Tyler Freeman was scratched from Saturday’s lineup with oblique soreness.
Freeman was slated to start in center field on Saturday night but got hurt during pre-game batting practice. MLB.com’s Thomas Harding adds that top prospect Adael Amador could be recalled if it’s serious enough to require a trip to the injured list.

Gunnar Henderson swatted a pinch-hit two-run homer in the eighth inning to help the Orioles to a 3-1 win over the Mets on Thursday during the first game of a doubleheader.
Royals' Caglianone on verge of 'hot stretch'
Eric Samulski weighs in on Jac Caglianone's recent uptick in power, highlighting why fantasy managers should roster him in all formats ahead of what could be a highly-productive July and August for the top prospect.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #74
Felix Bautista didn’t give up a run while picking up a save Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader against the Mets.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #50
Charlie Morton didn’t factor into the decision during the first game of a doubleheader against the Mets on Thursday despite allowing just one run over six innings.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #23
David Peterson was outstanding over seven scoreless innings in the first game of a doubleheader against the Orioles, but he didn’t factor into the decision Thursday.
  • MIA Left Fielder #28
Kyle Stowers is not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Reds.
The Marlins are going all right-handed to open the game against Nick Lodolo and Cincinnati. That means Towers sits with Heriberto Hernandez getting the start in right field. Jesus Sanchez is also out with Derek Hill in center and Dane Myers handling right field.
  • HOU Shortstop #10
Astros optioned INF/OF Shay Whitcomb to Triple-A Sugar Land.
Whitcomb got the call to replace Jeremy Peña after Peña was placed on the injured list, but he’s heading back to the PCL with Christian Walker coming off the paternity list. Whitcomb will likely be back before the end of 2025 in a reserve role.
  • HOU 1st Baseman #8
Astros activated 1B Christian Walker off the paternity list.
Walker missed three days while welcoming a new family member. The 34-year-old will return to hitting in the middle of the Houston lineup now that he’s with the club.
  • ATH Left Fielder #25
Brent Rooker will participate in the 2025 Home Run Derby.
Rooker has some of the best power in the game, and he’s followed a 39-homer season with one that seen him go deep 19 times in 2025. He’s the sixth known participant in the event, and two more names will be added to the event before Monday’s competition.
  • CIN Catcher #37
Tyler Stephenson is not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Marlins.
For the second time in the four-game series, Stephenson will give way to Jose Trevino behind the plate. There doesn’t appear to be a catching controversy yet, but it’s worth noting that Stephenson has been struggling behind the plate since the start of July.
  • NYM Left Fielder #3
Jesse Winker was removed from the first game of a doubleheader against the Orioles with back tightness.
Winker was just activated off the injured list Tuesday, but this doesn’t appear to be related to the oblique strain that shelved him for over two months. The outfielder will likely sit out the second game of a doubleheader as well, and should be considered day-to-day for now.
