Nathaniel Lowe is back in the lineup as a DH on Saturday after missing Friday’s game with an illness.
Josh Bell is playing first base to limit Lowe’s time on his feet. Lowe is batting cleanup against Sandy Alcantara and the Marlins.

Dodgers recalled RHP Jack Little from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Little will be up to provide some bullpen help after Noah Davis gave up 10 runs in his relief appearance Friday. He’ll be a multi-inning option, but with no chance of helping fantasy clubs in this stint.
Hold Muncy if placed on injured list
Eric Samulski advises fantasy managers to "hold" Max Muncy if placed on the injured list, who has produced in a big way since the beginning of May, and discusses the outlook for Dodgers' call-up Esteury Ruiz.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #56
Dodgers optioned RHP Noah Davis to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Davis allowed 10 runs in 1 1/3 innings during Friday’s embarrassing loss to the Astros. The right-hander will head to OKC with Jack Little rejoining Los Angeles in the corresponding move.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #54
Astros signed RHP Héctor Neris to a one-year contract.
Neris returns for his third stint with the Astros during his lengthy career, which spans back to 2014. The 36-year-old will likely operate in middle relief spots for Houston. He was cut loose earlier this week by the division-rival Angels after struggling in 21 appearances.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #54
Astros optioned RHP Jason Alexander to Triple-A Sugar Land.
Alexander returns to the minors to clear a spot on Houston’s active roster for veteran reliever Héctor Neris. The 32-year-old picked up a save during Friday’s blowout win over the Dodgers by working three innings.
  • CLE Center Fielder #8
Lane Thomas (plantar fasciitis) is not in the lineup for Saturday evening’s contest against the Tigers.
Thomas will get some extra time off to rest and recover after making an early exit from Friday’s game with mild plantar fascia symptoms. The 29-year-old outfielder is presumably day-to-day heading into Sunday’s series finale. It’ll be Nolan Jones shifting over to cover center field with rookie Johnathan Rodríguez entering the lineup in right field.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #34
Guardians activated RHP Paul Sewald from the 15-day injured list.
Sewald returns to Cleveland’s relief mix ahead of Saturday’s critical showdown against the division-leading Tigers. The 35-year-old former closer has been on the shelf since late April recovering from a right shoulder strain.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #65
Guardians optioned LHP Doug Nikhazy to Triple-A Columbus.
Nikhazy returns to the minors after making two appearances (one start) this season for Cleveland in his first shot in the big leagues. His latest stint with the club lasted roughly 48 hours after Luis L. Ortiz was placed on the restricted list earlier this week.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher
The New York Post’s Joel Sherman reports the Yankees are planning to call up pitching prospect Cam Schlittler next week.
Sherman adds that Schlittler will get the nod to replace an injured Clarke Schmidt, who is likely to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery, in New York’s rotation to face the Mariners on Tuesday or Wednesday. The 24-year-old righty has pitched extremely well this season with a sparkling 2.82 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 99/26 K/BB ratio across 76 2/3 innings (15 appearances, 14 starts) this season between Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Double-A Somerset. We’re advising a wait-and-see approach, but there’s at least a few weeks of runway for Schlittler to make an impression before Luis Gil (lat) is ready to return from the injured list for his season debut.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #7
Blake Snell (shoulder) faced hitters on Saturday in a live batting practice session at Dodger Stadium.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Snell could be cleared for a rehab assignment based on how he comes out of Saturday’s latest throwing session. It’s the second time in the past week that the 32-year-old lefty has faced hitters in a live setting. He’ll likely need a handful of rehab starts before he’s ready to rejoin Los Angeles’ rotation mix.
  • FA Center Fielder #8
    Braves released OF Alex Verdugo.
Verdugo is now a free agent after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 29-year-old outfielder was designated for assignment earlier this week by Atlanta after hitting .239/.296/.289 with zero homers over 56 games with the club. He’ll likely have to settle for a minor league contract if he’s going to latch on elsewhere.
