Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out nine over six scoreless innings to get a win in the Dodgers’ 3-0 victory over the Cubs on Friday.
Yamamoto was exceptional on Friday; throwing everything for strikes and showing electric movement on his offerings. The right-hander has allowed just one run over his last two outings, and his ERA is a sparkling 1.23 on the campaign. Yamamoto has pitched like an ace thus far in 2025, and he’ll get a terrible Rockies’ lineup Wednesday.
  • WSH 3rd Baseman #38

Trey Lipscomb went 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a walk as a Nationals split-squad topped the Cardinals 6-2 on Saturday.
Lipscomb, who broke out at this time two years ago, is in Nationals camp as a non-roster player after clearing waivers back in November. The Nationals don’t have an established third baseman and might slide Luis García Jr. from second to first, so there’s opportunity for Lipscomb to come away with a job with a big March. Last year’s .249/.305/.392 line in Triple-A doesn’t bode well, however.
Schiano: It's 'impossible' to draft Westburg
Eric Samulski and James Schiano react to Jordan Westburg's latest injury and why fantasy managers should not be drafting him.
  • STL Pitcher #32
Matthew Liberatore struck out four in two scoreless innings Saturday against a Nationals split-squad.
It was the road split squad, so Liberatore wasn’t facing any regulars today. Still, it’s a nice start to his spring. He’s probably the favorite to start on Opening Day for the Cardinals this year after going 8-12 with a 4.21 ERA in his first season as a full-time starter.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #70
Packy Naughton pitched a perfect inning Saturday in his first game appearance since July 2024.
Naughton underwent forearm surgery in 2023 and experienced a setback while rehabbing in 2024, costing him all of last year. The 29-year-old has a 4.98 ERA in 59 2/3 major league innings. He’ll probably have to succeed in Triple-A for a spell this year if he’s going to get another chance with the Cardinals.
  • CLE Pitcher #54
Joey Cantillo threw 1 1/3 innings while giving up two runs in his Cactus League opener against the Brewers on Saturday.
Cantillo allowed three hits, didn’t walk anyone and struck out two. He was mostly effective in 2025 with a 3.21 ERA over 34 appearances — 13 of those starts — and the southpaw stands a good chance of winning the last spot in the rotation to open 2026.
  • LAA Pitcher #59
José Soriano allowed four runs while working just 2/3 of an inning Saturday in his Cactus League bout against the Dodgers.
Thankfully, this happened in exhibition season. Soriano allowed three hits and a pair of walks, but he did at least pick up a pair of strikeouts. The 27-year-old was decent over his 31 starts with a 4.26 ERA, but he’s more of a streamer than someone fantasy managers can trust over a full campaign.
  • LAD Pitcher #18
Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed two runs — one earned — while striking out three over 1 2/3 innings against the Angels on Saturday in his Cactus League opener.
Yamamoto’s defense was less-than-spectacular, but the 27-year-old limited the damage thanks to the punchouts. He’s coming off a spectacular regular season on top of his postseason heroics, and he should be one of the very first starters off the board in all eligible drafts.
  • TOR Outfield #5
Daulton Varsho went 2-for-2 with a homer Saturday in the Jays’ 3-0 shutout of the Phillies.
Varsho was a big help in fantasy leagues in the final two months of last season, hitting .256 with 12 homers and 35 RBI in 47 games after returning from a hamstring strain. If he could keep that up, he might get a chance to hit third or fourth against righties, giving his value another boost. Alas, he was all the way down at seventh in the lineup today behind Addison Barger in the fifth spot and Kazuma Okamoto hitting sixth.
  • TOR Pitcher #64
Adam Macko pitched hitless third and fourth inning against the Phillies on Saturday.
He averaged 95.0 mph with his fastball today, which is a nice bump from last year’s 93.0 average in Triple-A. Macko keeps missing time each year, slowing his development, and he wound up finishing last year in the pen in Triple-A. He doesn’t seem hopeless as a starter just yet, but this is his last option year and it’s not going to be easy for him to break into the Toronto rotation; a full-time move to the pen might come at some point.
  • PHI Center Fielder #91
Justin Crawford went 2-for-3 with a double as the Phillies’ leadoff man Saturday.
A groundball machine in the minors, Crawford opened up with an impressive double in a lefty-lefty matchup against Eric Lauer, lining a 390-foot double to left-center. He seems pretty well assured of being the Phillies’ center fielder against right-handers to begin the year, but handling lefties well this spring could earn him some extra at-bats beyond that.
  • AZ Starting Pitcher #82
Mitch Bratt allowed three runs — two earned — in 1 1/3 innings Saturday against the Rockies in his Cactus League start.
Bratt, 22, wasn’t helped by his defense, but he struggled for the majority of the outing. The southpaw has a chance to be a contributor for the Diamondbacks before the end of of 2026, but the former Texas prospect has a long way to go before fantasy relevancy.
