Rotoworld

  • COL Shortstop #14

Ezequiel Tovar is not in the starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the Brewers.
Tovar will get a rare day off for the series finale against the Brewers. Kris Bryant will also take a seat, as will Hunter Goodman. Kyle Farmer will hit third and play shortstop in Tovar’s place, while Jacob Stallings is catching and hitting ninth and Nick Martini serving as the DH and hitting fifth.
  • COL Catcher #15

Hunter Goodman is not in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the White Sox.
Goodman has gone 3-for-17 with two round-trippers in four contests since returning earlier this week from a four-game absence due to a hamstring issue. It’ll be veteran Austin Nola behind the plate on Sunday afternoon at Coors Field.
Hold Muncy if placed on injured list
Eric Samulski advises fantasy managers to "hold" Max Muncy if placed on the injured list, who has produced in a big way since the beginning of May, and discusses the outlook for Dodgers' call-up Esteury Ruiz.
  • COL Center Fielder #9
Brenton Doyle remains out of the lineup on Sunday for the third consecutive game.
Doyle will sit out for the fourth time in the last five games as Colorado attempts to give him an extended mental break in an effort to let him clear his head and work on adjustments. The 27-year-old was one of last year’s biggest fantasy breakthrough’s, but he’s struggled this season to re-discover that form at the plate.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #49
Piratws re-signed RHP Yohan Ramírez to a minor league contract.
Ramírez returns to the fold with Pittsburgh as extra organizational relief depth after opting out of his minor league deal with the club earlier this week to explore opportunities elsewhere. The 30-year-old righty has pitched well this season at the Triple-A level and could factor into the Pirates’ relief mix in the second half.
  • MIL 1st Baseman #12
Rhys Hoskins (thumb) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s contest against the Marlins.
Hoskins will get a breather, as expected, during Sunday’s game with Jake Bauers handling the cold corner. The 32-year-old first baseman left Saturday’s game against the Marlins with left thumb discomfort and could wind up getting a few additional days off this coming week. He’s officially day-to-day for the moment.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #51
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters Dietrich Enns is being moved back to the bullpen.
Enns will not longer be taking the ball on Monday against the Rays. The 34-year-old southpaw was torched for eight runs — seven earned — over four innings on Thursday in a loss to the Nationals. He’ll pitch in relief moving forward and can be safely ignored in most fantasy formats.
  • DET Relief Pitcher
Tigers selected the contract of LHP PJ Poulin from Triple-A Toledo.
Poulin will remain at Triple-A Toledo for the moment, but he’s been added to the club’s 40-man roster after pitching to a strong 3.72 ERA and 54/14 K/BB ratio across 36 1/3 innings (29 appearances) this season in the minors. The 28-year-old southpaw had an upward mobility clause in his contract with Detroit and they didn’t want to risk losing him to another organization.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #73
Tigers recalled LHP Sean Guenther from Triple-A Toledo; placed him on the 60-day injured list.
Guenther underwent season-ending hip surgery last week. The procedural move frees up a spot on Detroit’s 40-man roster.
  • TB 2nd Baseman #7
Ha-Seong Kim (calf) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Twins.
Kim will sit out his second straight contest after exiting his season debut on Friday with cramping in his right calf. It’ll be José Caballero at shortstop on Sunday in his absence. The Rays are going to proceed with extreme caution as there’s little incentive to rush the 29-year-old back too quickly if he’s still dealing with some lingering soreness. There should be an update on his status leading into Monday’s series opener in Detroit.
  • NYM Left Fielder #3
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters Jesse Winker (oblique) could be activated for Tuesday’s series opener against the Orioles.
Winker will get in one final minor league rehab contest on Sunday before returning to New York for Tuesday’s game at Camden Yards. The 31-year-old veteran DH has been out since early May recovering from a right oblique strain.
  • WSH Shortstop #5
CJ Abrams is on the bench for Sunday’s contest against the Red Sox.
Abrams gets a rare off day with Boston ace Garrett Crochet taking the ball during Sunday’s series finale. It’ll be Paul DeJong taking over at shortstop with Alex Call in the leadoff spot. The 24-year-old speedster is hitting .306 (37-for-121) with four homers, 12 RBI and nine steals over his last 30 games.
