Daniel Álvarez-Montes of El Extrabase reports Sandy Alcantara will start on Saturday against the Nationals.
Alcantara’s previous scheduled start was rained out last Sunday against the Braves and he went on paternity leave the following day instead of taking the ball on Monday against the Mets. The 29-year-old righty has posted a 3.72 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 11/4 K/BB ratio across 9 2/3 innings (two starts) to open the year.

Shea Langeliers drove in a run while going 4-for-4 in a win over the Rangers on Wednesday.
Cubs CF Crow-Armstrong has 'true star potential'
James Schiano discusses the breakout of Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, explaining how the 23-year-old Los Angeles native has been able to turn his game around this season after struggling to start his career.
  • TEX Left Fielder #36
Wyatt Langford hit a solo homer Wednesday in a loss to the Athletics.
  • ATH 1st Baseman #16
Nick Kurtz went 1-for-4 with an RBI to help the Athletics to a 5-2 win over the Rangers on Wednesday.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #19
Mason Miller struck out three while working a scoreless ninth to get a save Wednesday against the Rangers.
Miller did allow a hit, but it’s another outing where he holds the opponent scoreless while picking up his seventh save. It’s the third time in 2025 he’s struck out three hitters in an inning of work, and he’s picked up multiple punchouts in all but two of his nine outings. It’s hard to say any reliever has been more impressive than Miller in 2025.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #38
JP Sears gave up just a run in five innings of work to get a win against the Athletics on Wednesday.
Sears scattered five hits in the contest, and he struck out five with one walk in the victory. The only run he allowed was a solo homer by Wyatt Langford, and outside of that he was able to escape the small amounts of trouble he created. He’s allowed just two run over his last 11 frames and , and he has yet to give up more than three runs in any of his outings. He’ll take a 3.21 ERA into a rematch with the Rangers next week.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #80
Kumar Rocker allowed five runs over 1 2/3 innings while taking a loss to the Athletics on Wednesday.
Rocker gave up four runs in the first inning, and walked in another in the second before exiting. The 25-year-old has alternated solid outings with clunkers to begin the year, and unfortunately, this one clunked after seven innings of three-run baseball his last time out. His ERA is now an unsightly 8.10, and the right-hander offers plenty of risk — with some potential reward — in a schedule rematch against the Athletics next week.
  • MIL 2nd Baseman #2
Brice Turang drove in two runs while going 3-for-5 in Wednesday’s loss for the Brewers to the Giants.
Turang got the Brewers back into it with a two-run double in the ninth inning off Ryan Walker. The 25-year-old also singled twice, and he’s now hitting a nifty .350/.385/.450 on the season. Turang appears to be living up to the hype he showed as a prep, and while there’s no reason to think he’ll put up this kind of slash in 2025, it’s not hard to fathom he can be a multiple-category contributor as well. The steals are definitely going to be there, anyway.
  • SF Center Fielder #51
Jung Ho Lee went 3-for-4 and scored a run in a win over the Brewers on Wednesday.
Lee did have one negative, as he was caught stealing for the first time in 2025. Tough to complain about another big night at the plate for the 26-year-old outfielder, and he’s now hitting .333 with an OPS of .969. Lee will have some regression because of course he will, but he’s looked the part and then some over the first month of 2025.
  • SF Relief Pitcher #75
Camilo Doval got the final two outs to get a save against the Brewers on Wednesday.
Doval had to get the final two outs after Ryan Walker gave up two runs and getting just one out. Doval was up to the task while picking up a strikeout and throwing 5-of-6 pitches for strikes. The right-hander has saved four games, but Walker should remain the closer despite his struggles. For now, anyway.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #62
Logan Webb blanked the Brewers over 6 1/3 innings to get a win Wednesday.
Webb walked three, but threw 72-of-106 pitches for strikes while striking out six. It’s yet another in the month of April that the right-hander has excelled, and he’s given up no more than three runs in any of his outings in 2025. The 28-year-old will take a 1.98 ERA into his scheduled bout against the Padres on Tuesday. That outing will take place in San Diego.
