Mike Yastrzemski went 2-for-5 and hit a walkoff homer in the bottom of the 10th as the Giants came back to beat the Reds 8-6 on Wednesday.
Cincinnati was up 6-1 at one point, but the Giants charged back to tie it in the eighth and then won it on Yastrzemski’s fifth career walkoff homer. He’s batting .344/.462/.594 through 10 games this season. That’s pretty good for someone the Giants were thinking about non-tendering over the winter. Yastrzemski stuck around by accepting a modest $1.35 million raise before the non-tender deadline.

Kutter Crawford (knee) will throw a four-inning live batting practice this week.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said the team is keeping Crawford on a five-day schedule as they prepare him to return to the big league roster. That would seem to indicate that they are preparing him to return as a starter, but things could change over the next few weeks. If Crawford’s four-inning live batting practice goes well this week, we could see him begin a rehab assignment next week. He has not pitched any competitive innings at all this year, so his rehab stint would likely be on the longer end, which would put him on track for a record in late June or early July.
Mayer joins Red Sox after Bregman lands on IL
The Boston Red Sox called up top prospect Marcelo Mayer to replace injured third baseman Alex Bregman, and Eric Samulski discusses why you should still stash Bregman if your fantasy league has multiple IL spots.

Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) had a setback with his right shoulder strain and was removed from his rehab assignment.
DeLuca will be sent to get another medical opinion on his shoulder. He originally strained the shoulder in early April and had a small setback in his recovery at the end of last month, so this is now the second setback that the 26-year-old has had as he tries to return to the Rays. We’ll have to wait for news after his latest consultation, but it would appear that a lengthier absence is on the horizon.

Anthony Santander said that his shoulder and hip injuries are limiting his “big swings” right now.
While he suggested this in a positive sense because he believes it’s helping him to make more contact, the Blue Jays didn’t sign him to be a contact hitter, and that’s certainly not why fantasy managers drafted him. He has hit at least 28 home runs in each of the last three seasons and is coming off a 44-home-run breakout. In 2025, his HR/FB rate is the lowest it’s been since 2018. If he’s not healthy enough to get back to that peak power production, he’s going to lose a lot of fantasy value.

Logan O’Hoppe is expected back in the Angels lineup for Wednesday’s game after clearing concussion tests.
O’Hoppe pinch-hit Tuesday and popped out in the ninth. Travis d’Arnaud started in his place tonight after O’Hoppe was hit by a backswing Monday.
  • SD Right Fielder #23
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in the Padres’ 8-6 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.
After the Marlins drove in six run in the top of the first, Tatis answered with a solo blast off Max Meyer to lead off the bottom of the frame. He later added a base hit in the fifth. The 26-year-old star outfielder is up to 13 homers while slashing .278/.344/.512 with 38 runs scored, 28 RBI, and eight steals across 227 plate appearances.
  • SD Center Fielder #3
Jackson Merrill went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, two runs scored, and two walks against the Marlins on Tuesday.
Merrill drew a pair of walks with a run scored before taking Valente Bellozo deep for a solo homer in the eighth. The home run breaks a 15-game home run drought as it was just the second since Merrill returned from the injured list on May 6. Still, the 22-year-old outfielder is slashing a strong .333/.375/.532 with five homers across 120 plate appearances.
  • MIA Left Fielder #7
Jesús Sánchez and 3-for-4 with a run scored against the Padres on Tuesday.
Sánchez singled to start the game in to top of the first and scored Miami’s first run on a base hit by Kyle Stowers. He’d fly out to end the inning as the Marlins hit around the order in a six-run inning. Sánchez added two more hits in the game for a three-hit effort. The 27-year-old outfielder is hitting .248/.349/.360 with three homers, 14 RBI, and five steals across 146 plate appearances.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #56
Jeremiah Estrada struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning to record the save against the Marlins on Tuesday.
With Robert Suarez getting the night off after pitching in four of the last five games, Estrada got the game to pick up his first save of the season as he was summoned to end the game with a two-run lead. He worked around one hit, striking out two to secure the win for San Diego.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #32
Stephen Kolek allowed six runs with three strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday.
The Marlins jumped on Kolek early, putting up six runs on five hits and a walk in the first inning. Kolek incredibly settled in to pitch into the sixth without allowing another run and fell in line for the win, allowing just one more hit and a walk the rest of the way. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 4.11 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 24/10 K/BB ratio across 30 2/3 innings into a start against the Giants in San Francisco on Monday.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #23
Max Meyer allowed six runs -- four earned -- with no strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Padres on Tuesday.
Meyer gave up a solo homer to Fernando Tatis Jr. to lead off the bottom of the first inning. A walk, hit, and an error brought two more runs in to score for San Diego in the second. Two hits, a walk, and a sacrifice fly plated two more runs for the Padres in the third. Two errors in the fourth would knock Meyer from the game at 74 pitches. He did not record a strikeout. The 26-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 4.53 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and a 63/19 K/BB ratio across 59 2/3 innings. He’ll take on the Rockies in Miami on Monday.
