Still, hardly anyone is hitting him hard, with his home run rate standing at just less than two-thirds of what it was the previous four years. He’ll face the Tigers this weekend.

It might be time for the Rangers to give Evan Carter a try at the top of the order. Smith has had a fine season, but he is currently in an 11-for-63 skid that’s dropped him down to .261/.338/.391 for the year.

Morán has been shipped back to the minors after allowing two runs over two innings on Monday against the Orioles, leaving him with a subpar 6.75 ERA across four innings of work (two appearances).
