Kremer got off to a rocky start in this one and never truly settled in. The Royals smacked three hits in the first inning and he was lucky to leave that frame with only one run on the board. Then, in the fourth, an error by Gunnar Henderson and wild pitch by Kremer himself set up a two-run single by Maikel Garcia that put the Royals ahead. Kremer allowed two more hits in the fifth and was mercifully pulled from the game. He obviously didn’t have his best swing-and-miss stuff and forced just five total whiffs on the night. Also, his velocity was down across the board in what was a cold, damp night in Kansas City. He’ll look to get back on track in his next scheduled start Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

Canning was outstanding over his six frames against the Los Angeles; generating 13 swings-and-misses over 99 pitches, and holding the Dodgers to just three hits and one walk. The 29-year-old has been outstanding for the majority of the 2025 season as seen in a 2.90 ERA and (deserved) 6-2 record in his first season with the Mets. Canning will get a start against the Mets on Tuesday.

Pages was responsible for the sole run the Dodgers were able to score Wednesday, and it came on a solo homer off Ryne Stanek in the ninth inning to make it a 6-1 game. Still counts. Somewhat quietly, Pages has been a very strong option for 2025 with a slash of .290/.336/.502, 39 RBI and 12 homers. Not bad for anyone, but especially a 24-year-old in his second season.

After the first inning, Gonsolin was outstanding, and he generated an excellent 17 swings and misses over his 90 pitches. Unfortunately for for him, fantasy managers and the Dodgers, the first inning did happen. He allowed a run-scoring fielder’s choice to Juan Soto, and then a two-run blast to Pete Alonso. The line doesn’t look good, but this was an encouraging outing. He’ll still be a risky fantasy streamer against the Padres next week.

Alonso walloped a two-run homer off Tony Gonsolin in the first, and then put the game out of reach with a three-run shot in the eighth to make it 6-0 and give Alonso his 14th homer of the season. He’s hit three of those homers in four games in June, and while there have been a couple of lulls, his .290/.385/.563 slash is absolutely one fantasy managers would sign up for before 2025.

Bader took Jeffrey Springs deep in the fifth inning for his sixth homer of the season. The 31-year-old outfielders first season in the Twin Cities has gone well with a .792 OPS over 147 at-bats in 2025.

Jeffers gave the Twins a 1-0 lead in the first inning with a homer off Justin Sterner. his second RBI of the game and 20th of 2025 came on a single in the ninth, so Jeffers was able to bookend the scoring. The veteran backstop has a solid .342 on-base percentage, but his .253 average and .400 slugging mark only work because of his positional value.

Springs worked behind opener Justin Sterner, who got the loss after giving up a run in the first inning. The southpaw struck out seven while throwing 68-of-106 pitches for strikes, and he allowed just five hits with two walks. Springs has been up-and-down in his first year with the A’s with a 4.66 ERA, and he’s scheduled to be on the mound again against the Angels next week.

Matthews did walk three, but he was able to work around those free passes with four strikeouts and just four hits allowed. It’s worth noting that Matthews went seven innings against the Mariners while holding Seattle scoreless over the final six innings, so that’s 11 innings of one-run baseball for the talented right-hander. Matthews will try to keep the good run going against the Rangers next week.

Sheets tripled in two in the first inning off Kyle Harrison to give the Padres a 2-0 lead. The 29-year-old singled in two more in the fifth to extended the cushion to 5-0. Sheets has seen his numbers slide a bit lately, but he’s still driven in 38 runs in 60 games with a respectable .263/.320/.489 slash over the first two months.

Chapman smacked his 11th homer of the season off Nick Pivetta to get the Giants to within 5-3. The 32-year-old has his first roundtripper in the month of June after hitting six of them in May. Chapman helps more with his glove than his stick, but a .791 OPS isn’t anything to sneeze at.
