José Ramírez went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in a loss Monday to the Padres.
Ramírez was removed Saturday with a wrist sprain and didn’t play Sunday, but he looked healthy on a solo blast that traveled 365 feet in the first inning. The 32-year-old also doubled, and that two-bagger had an exit velocity of 108.2 mph. Ramírez remains one of the true fantasy superstars in the sport.

Mariners activated LHP Jose A. Ferrer from the paternity list.
He’ll be back in the late-game fold for the Mariners and should be activated in leagues that count holds. Ferrer also holds some deep-league appeal as a contingency plan for Andrés Muñoz when Muñoz needs a breather.
Twins' Ober worth streaming in 'right matchups'
Though he's fresh off a complete game shutout, Bailey Ober's underlying metrics suggest he shouldn't be relied on as a set-and-forget fantasy start, but rather as a streamer in ideal matchups.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #37
Mariners optioned LHP Josh Simpson to Triple-A Tacoma.
Back on the shuttle he goes. Simpson has a 7.36 career ERA in the bigs — including 7.71 this year in three appearances — and is functional depth for the Mariners. With Jose A. Ferrer ready to return from the paternity list, Simpson is back to Tacoma.
  • SEA Catcher #5
Mariners recalled C Jhonny Pereda from Triple-A Tacoma.
He’ll split time with Mitch Garver while Cal Raleigh recovers from his right oblique strain. Pereda was hitting .321 in 100 plate appearances with the Rainiers this year, but is a career .248/.303/.301 hitter in the bigs and figures to only draw starts against lefties or when Garver needs a blow.
  • SD Center Fielder #3
Jackson Merrill is not in the starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the Brewers.
It appears to be just a routine recovery day for Merrill, who is hitting a rough .215/.287/.342 in his first 41 games of the season with four homers and eight stolen bases. He’ll sit against LHP Kyle Harrison and the Padres will send Bryce Johnson out in his stead in center field while bumping Xander Bogaerts further up the order.
  • MIN Center Fielder #25
Byron Buxton is not in Minnesota’s starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the Marlins.
It appears to be just a routine day off for the star centerfielder, who is off to a .260/.319/.580 start with 15 bombs in his first 40 games. Ryan Kreidler is taking over in center field while Brooks Lee gets a shot as the No. 2 hitter.
  • PIT Catcher #13
Endy Rodriguez is batting eighth and catching in Pittsburgh’s lineup on Thursday against the Rockies.
It will be Rodriguez’s first taste of big league action this year as Henry Davis takes a seat in the day-game-after-a-night-game scenario against RHP Chase Dollander. Rodriguez was hitting .221/.326/.301 for Triple-A Indianapolis in 136 plate appearances. The prospect luster appears to have worn off here after several injuries.
  • WSH Relief Pitcher #99
Nationals sent RHP Cole Henry on a rehab assignment to the FCL Nationals.
That unaggressive placement would seem to signal that Henry is a ways from rejoining the club. He should be around at some point in June or July, but there’s not much to speculate on here at the moment and he doesn’t need to be rostered while on IL in the vast majority of leagues.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Mariners placed C Cal Raleigh on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain.
This is the first time Raleigh has been on the injured list in his MLB career. The 29-year-old missed three games last week with right-side discomfort and was then pulled from last night’s game with the same issue. The fact that he had been trying to play through the discomfort suggests that it may not be a lengthy stay on the IL for Raleigh, but he should be out for a few weeks at least. He needs to be held everywhere, despite his current struggles.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #29
Rockies recalled RHP Tanner Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Gordon has a 6.35 ERA in 17 innings with the Rockies this season. He was just sent down to the minors on Tuesday, but is back up with Jimmy Herget (shoulder) being placed on the injured list.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #44
Rockies placed RHP Jimmy Herget on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.
Herget had just been activated off the bereavement list on Tuesday, but tweaked something in his lone appearance. As of now, there is no timeline for his recovery.
