Cedric Mullins had a two-run double and a two-run single against the Red Sox on Monday.
That’s 10 RBI in five games for Mullins. He’s knocked in more runs than seven entire teams have scored this season, though still one fewer than Aaron Judge. Two of his nine career four-RBI games have come this season.

Roki Sasaki gave up three runs and six hits in two-plus innings Thursday in his rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
All six hits were singles and only two were hit hard, so Sasaki was pretty unlucky there. Still, it was discouraging that he averaged just 93.6 mph with his 27 fastballs. He’s averaged 96.0 mph in the majors this season. Tonight, his hardest pitch came in at 95.7 mph, and he recorded just two whiffs on 22 swings and 41 pitches. Sasaki, on the IL with a shoulder impingement, figures to keep pitching in the minors for now.
Nationals activating top prospect Crews off IL
Eric Samulski explains why you need to add Dylan Crews in all fantasy league formats after the Washington Nationals activated their top prospect off the IL.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #38
Alex Cobb pitched a pair of hitless innings for Triple-A Toledo on Thursday.
Cobb struck out three and walked two while throwing 45 pitches. Rehabbing a hip injury, he’ll probably make two more starts in the minors before the Tigers consider adding him to their rotation.
  • MIL Center Fielder #16
Brewers placed OF Blake Perkins on the bereavement list.
The Brewers are off tonight, so Perkins wasn’t immediately replaced on the roster. Brandon Lockridge will likely start in center on Friday.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #64
Pirates optioned RHP Cam Sanders to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Sanders gave up five runs in five innings during his nine days with the Pirates. The team will add another pitcher ahead of Friday’s game against the Cubs.
  • TB 1st Baseman
The Rays are calling up Bob Seymour in advance of Friday’s game, according to the Tampa Bay Times’ Marc Topkin.
The 26-year-old Seymour has been one of the best sluggers in Triple-A this season, hitting .263/.327/.553 with 30 homers and a 114/38 K/BB in 443 plate appearances for Durham. The Rays will likely use him at DH and first base against right-handers until Jonathan Aranda gets back. They have been mixing and matching in the DH spot lately, with Chandler Simpson starting there Wednesday. Tristan Peters could head back to Triple-A. It’s unlikely that Seymour will offer mixed-league value, but AL-only leaguers in need of some power could try him.
  • BAL 1st Baseman #6
Ryan Mountcastle went 1-for-3 with a sac fly and two stolen bases Thursday in the Orioles’ 5-3 defeat of the Mariners.
Mountcastle singled in the fourth and then attempted a steal of second on what turned out to be a wild pitch from Logan Evans, allowing him to take third. Daniel Johnson went on to walk and then tried to steal second but got himself hung up in a rundown that allowed Mountcastle to take off and steal home, and Johnson still made it to second on the play anyway. Mountcastle’s only previous steal this season was also of home, so he has that going for him. He’s 5-for-20 with two homers in six games since coming off the injured list.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #19
Tomoyuki Sugano picked up his 10th win after holding the Mariners to one run and three hits in 5 1/3 innings Thursday.
Sugano, who had a shutout going, probably would have finished the sixth if not for a two-hour, 18-minute rain delay halting play while he had one out and a man on first. Rico Garcia replaced him when the game resumed and immediately gave up a homer to Julio Rodríguez. Fortunately, the Orioles still had a 5-2 lead at that point and went on to win 5-3. The Orioles are now 15-8 when Sugano starts, compared to 40-58 the rest of the time. It’s not like Sugano has been all that effective with his 4.13 ERA, but he’s typically been just good enough. He’ll face the Red Sox in Boston on Tuesday.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #71
Dietrich Enns earned his first save despite giving up a run in the ninth Thursday against the Mariners.
Working with a three-run lead, Enns gave up two singles and a one-out walk before getting a pair of groundouts to end the game. It’s his third major league save; he had a three-inning save and a one-out save for the Rays in Sept. 2021 before heading to Japan in 2022. Enns has allowed two runs and struck out 12 in 6 1/3 innings since being DFA’d by the Tigers and picked up by the Orioles at the trade deadline. He seems best utilized as more of a long man, but since no one else is stepping up in the Orioles pen, it’s possible he’ll get more chances in the ninth.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #73
Logan Evans yielded three runs — two earned — in four innings Thursday in a loss to the Orioles.
Evans struck out only one and walked four, including two in a messy fourth inning in which the Orioles got all of their runs off him. The loss leaves him 6-5 with a 4.37 ERA, which isn’t too bad. However, he’s 4-0 with a 3.32 ERA in his very pitcher friendly home ballpark and 2-5 with a 5.36 ERA elsewhere. He’ll probably head back to Triple-A now with Bryce Miller likely to return next week.
  • SEA 2nd Baseman #7
Jorge Polanco went 0-for-4 as the Mariners’ designated hitter and cleanup man Thursday against the Orioles.
Polanco had a nice July, but he’s back slumping again now, having gone 3-for-28 with no extra-base hits or RBI in his last eight games. Even with the improvement last month, he’s hitting .203/.279/.336 in his last 79 games. Maybe the Mariners should stick with him anyway, but they don’t need to be batting him fourth right now.
