Kyren Paris hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth as the Angels edged the White Sox 3-2 on Sunday.
Paris homered off Cam Booser to break a 2-2 tie that had been in effect since the first inning. Paris started in center today as a result an injury to Jo Adell. It was his first start anywhere this year, though it’d probably make sense for the Angels to play him at second or short with Zach Neto out.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will get Thursday off against the Red Sox.
Guerrero Jr. will get his first day off of the season for the series finale against the Red Sox. Will Wagner will hit fifth and play first base while Vladdy Jr. takes a break.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #43
Mariners optioned RHP Luis F. Castillo to Triple-A Tacoma.
Castillo was not effective in either start he made while with the team; giving up seven runs over seven innings against the Giants and Celtics, respectively. The Mariners will likely bring up a fresh bullpen arm before Friday’s series begins against the Rangers.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #58
David Festa is expected to start Friday against the Tigers.
Festa will need to be recalled from Triple-A St. Paul in order to do so. He’ll essentially be taking the place of Pablo Lopez (hamstring), and the right-hander offers some potential intrigue as a former top prospect who shows swing-and-miss stuff with his arsenal. He’s worth keeping an eye on, but fantasy managers would be forgiven if they wanted to see how Friday goes before adding him to the roster.
  • COL Shortstop #14
Ezequiel Tovar is not in the lineup Thursday against the Brewers due to a hip injury.
Rockies manager Bud Black told reporters that Tovar has been dealing with a “nagging” hip issue for a while now. Black also said he doesn’t believe the injury is serious, but obviously this is a situation for fantasy managers to monitor. Kyle Farmer is starting in Tovar’s place and could get another one Friday if Tovar isn’t ready to play.
  • CIN Center Fielder #12
Reds sent OF Austin Hays on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville.
Hays, 29, will likely need a week or so of games before he’s ready to help the Reds. The outfielder has missed the first three weeks of the season while recovering from a calf injury. Once healthy, Hays should see plenty of time in the Cincinnati outfield.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #35
Katie Woo of The Athletic reports that the Cardinals will recall Roddery Muñoz from Triple-A Memphis on Friday.
The Cardinals have already optioned Chris Roycroft to Triple-A, and St. Louis will make the move before Friday’s game against the Phillies. The 24-year-old Munoz will be a mid-inning option in the bullpen while he’s with the club.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #22
Marlins reinstated RHP Sandy Alcantara off the paternity list.
Alcantara was away from the team while taking care of more important matters. The 29-year-old will get the ball Saturday against the Nationals.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #83
Marlins optioned RHP Valente Bellozo to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Bellozo is off the active roster, and it makes room for Sandy Alcantara after Alcantara was reinstated off the paternity list. Bellozo will likely be back in the next couple weeks.
  • MIL 1st Baseman #12
Rhys Hoskins is not in the starting lineup for Thursday’s bout against the Rockies.
Hoskins will get the getaway matinee off. The 32-year-old will take a seat with Jake Bauers handling first base and hitting sixth against Ryan Feltner and the Rockies.
  • Enrique Bradfield Jr. left Thursday’s game with Double-A Chesapeake due to left hamstring discomfort.
Bradfield Jr. is one of the top hitting prospects in the Baltimore system, and one of the reasons why is his upper-echelon speed. The 23-year-old will likely undergo testing, but hopefully this hamstring injury won’t be a long-term issue for the 2023 first-round selection.
