  • DET Left Fielder #8

Matt Vierling (shoulder) has progressed to hitting soft toss.
Vierling has also been able to participate in defensive drills and other conditioning exercises as he works his way back from a right shoulder strain. The 28-year-old outfielder is expected to be ready to return by the end of April, if not sooner.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #39

Diamondbacks placed RHP Corbin Burnes on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 2, with right elbow inflammation.
Burnes is getting a second opinion on his elbow after initial tests failed to produce a definitive diagnosis. Ryne Nelson is taking his spot in the Arizona rotation.
Betting Ohtani, Judge in home run leader market
Vaughn Dalzell and Brad Thomas explain why they're still riding with Aaron Judge to win the home run crown in 2025 but are keeping close tabs on Shohei Ohtani.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #47
Diamondbacks recalled LHP Tommy Henry from Triple-A Reno.
Henry gets the call in spite of a 7.39 ERA in 10 starts for Reno. He’ll pitch in middle relief for now.
  • HOU 1st Baseman #9
Zach Dezenzo was diagnosed with a capsule sprain in his left hand and will be reevaluated in two weeks.
It sounds like Dezenzo might miss the entire month of June. That’s good news for Cam Smith and those rostering him. Dezenzo was batting .245/.321/.367 in 109 plate appearances before hurting his hand Saturday.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #49
Mariners re-signed RHP Jesse Hahn to a minor league contract.
Hahn became a free agent after being outrighted last week, but he clearly didn’t find the market to his liking. The 35-year-old righty allowed three earned runs in five innings for the Mariners last month in his first MLB action since 2021.
  • PIT 2nd Baseman #39
Pirates activated 2B/SS Nick Gonzales from the 60-day injured list.
Gonzales’ rehab stint started off in difficult fashion, as he wasn’t quite ready to play regularly as he attempted to overcome an ankle fracture. Things had gotten better recently, though, and he wound up going 7-for-22 in his last five games for Triple-A Indianapolis. He should reclaim his role as the Pirates’ primary second baseman. Adam Frazier, who has been unusually productive of late, will probably start seeing time in the outfield against righties, which will probably result in fewer at-bats for Alexander Canario.
  • PIT 2nd Baseman #46
Pirates sent OF Nick Solak outright to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The Pirates waived Solak after Sunday’s game without reporting it. The journeyman started three out of his first four games with the club after being promoted on May 16, but he went just 1-for-10 and had seen the field only once in two weeks since.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #66
Pirates recalled RHP Kyle Nicolas from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Nicolas will take the bullpen spot of Tanner Rainey, who was DFA’d on Monday. He had a 10.57 ERA over 7 2/3 innings before being sent down a month ago.
  • ATH 1st Baseman #16
The A’s hope to have Nick Kurtz back from the injured list for Monday’s game against the Angels.
Kurtz has missed the last week with a hip flexor strain. He had caught fire just prior to the injury, going 7-for-17 with four homers and five walks in his last five games. Logan Davidson of CJ Alexander could be sent down once Kurtz is back.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #32
Rockies activated RHP Chase Dollander from the 15-day injured list.
Dollander will make his return to the Colorado rotation tonight against the Marlins. He was 2-5 with a 6.28 ERA in eight starts before going on the IL two weeks ago with forearm tightness.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #29
Rockies placed RHP Tanner Gordon on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 31, with a left oblique strain.
Gordon might have been sent down anyway with Chase Dollander back, though Carson Palmquist was also a possibility. Gordon had a 4.24 ERA in three starts for the Rockies, but he allowed a few unearned runs and struck out only 10 in 17 innings.
