Rays reassigned OF Eloy Jiménez, INF Coco Montes, RHP Connor Seabold, INF Jamie Westbrook, C Tres Barrera, INF Tanner Murray, C Ricardo Genovés, INF Bob Seymour and OF Tristan Peters to minor league camp.
No real surprises here since Jiménez was informed earlier this week that he wasn’t going to make Tampa Bay’s season-opening roster over former top prospect Curtis Mead.

Tigers optioned RHP Jason Foley to Triple-A Toledo.
Foley has been atrocious this spring, but this is still a bit of a surprise considering the right-hander served as the closer for the majority of the season. The 29-year-old will try and gret right in the minors before Detroit even thinks about trying him in a high-leverage role. The Tigers will likely go with a closer-by-committee role, with Beau Brieske and Tommy Kahnle possibilities to save games to begin the year.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #62
Jose Quintana agreed to be optioned to Triple-A Nashville to begin the year.
Because Quintana was signed late in the year he hasn’t been built up enough to begin the year in the Milwaukee rotation. He’ll likely make a couple starts in Triple-A before joining the Brewers before the end of April.
  • HOU Second Baseman #7
Astros manager Joe Espada confirmed late Tuesday that Brendan Rodgers has made the season-opening roster.
Rodgers will have his contract officially selected by the Astros prior to Thursday’s season opener against the Mets. The 28-year-old former prospect will open the regular season as Houston’s starting second baseman in the wake of Jose Altuve transitioning to left field. We’re not projecting a significant fantasy impact, but he’ll have an opportunity to revive his career and boasts enough talent to contribute in AL-only formats.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #85
Dustin May limited the Angels to one run and one hit over five innings in the Dodgers’ 2-1 win Tuesday.
May struck out six while working around two walks and two HBPs. He ends the spring with a 2-0 record, a 3.60 ERA and a 12/6 K/BB in 10 innings. He’s not going to make 30 starts or probably anything close to it, but he should offer some early season value while in the Dodgers rotation.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #41
Jack Kochanowicz pitched seven innings and allowed two runs Tuesday in a loss to the Dodgers.
Kochanowicz’s groundball ability is very real, but he’ll be producing those grounders in front of a thoroughly mediocre Angels infield. It’s one more reason to think he’s the wrong choice to open up as the team’s fifth starter. He did have a nice spring, though, with his 2.79 ERA in 19 1/3 innings.
  • LAA Shortstop #7
Tim Anderson went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts as the Angels’ second baseman on Tuesday.
Anderson will be the Angels’ second baseman on Opening Day, even though he’s been arguably the worst player in the majors since mid-2022 and didn’t really do anything this spring to suggest that he’s better now. With the hitless game tonight, he finishes up hitting .250/.297/.317 in 64 plate appearances.
  • BOS Second Baseman #28
Kristian Campbell clobbered a two-run homer on Tuesday in an exhibition game against the Mexican League’s Sultanes de Monterrey.
Campbell took former big-league southpaw Manny Bañuelos deep to straightaway center field in the opening frame. The 22-year-old top prospect will open the regular season as Boston’s starting second baseman and offers immediate fantasy appeal as a stolen base source. There’s five-category impact potential here, but we’re not expecting Campbell to reach his lofty ceiling right out of the gate, especially as he adjusts to life in the big leagues.
Add Campbell with 'runway' to prove self in majors
Kristian Campbell has made the Red Sox Opening Day roster despite a sluggish spring, and Eric Samulski discusses why managers should pick up the prospect with a runway to prove himself in the big leagues.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #39
Hayden Wesneski allowed one run over 4 1/3 innings on Tuesday against Triple-A Sugar Land.
Wesneski will open the regular season as Houston’s fifth starter, but doesn’t offer a ton of appeal for fantasy purposes. The 27-year-old righty will square off against the Giants at home early next week in his first outing. He’ll be a matchup-dependent streaming option in deeper mixed leagues.
  • SF Shortstop #49
Tyler Fitzgerald slugged a two-run homer on Tuesday against the Tigers.
Fitzgerald was an unexpected revelation last year for San Francisco and will open the regular season as their starting second baseman. He’s stuck at the bottom of manager Bob Melvin’s lineup card at the outset of the year, which limits his fantasy ceiling, but his power-speed combination is plenty appealing in deeper mixed leagues.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #21
Jackson Jobe recorded five strikeouts and allowed two runs over four innings on Tuesday against the Giants.
Jobe gave up three hits with a two-run homer by Tyler Fitzgerald accounting for all of the damage against him. He averaged 96.3 mph on his fastball in this one and generated nine swinging strikes. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect needs to miss more bats at the highest level to reach his stratospheric potential, but the talent is undoubtedly there to make it happen. He should obviously be rostered in all fantasy formats. He’ll likely kick off the regular season with a favorable road matchup early next week against the Mariners.
Tigers P Jobe must strike more batters out in MLB
Eric Samulski shares his thoughts on Jackson Jobe starting the regular season with the Tigers, explaining why the 22-year-old Texas native needs to develop his raw stuff and strike out more batters at the MLB level.
