Freddy Peralta was absolutely annihilated in his final start of the spring against the Diamondbacks on Friday, allowing 10 runs on eight hits and four walks in just 3 1/3 innings.
Yikes. On the plus side, at least Peralta struck out five batters in the abysmal performance. He gave up four runs in the opening inning on a pair of two-run homers from Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Gabriel Moreno. He then settled in and put up zeroes for two innings before the D’Backs hung another four on him in the fourth. They tacked on another pair in the fifth before he mercifully called it a night. This start obviously skews his entire spring numbers as he finishes with an 8.56 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and a 16/5 K/BB ratio over his 13 2/3 innings. He remains a strong source of strikeouts for fantasy purposes as a fringe top 30 starting pitcher.
