Noah Murdock was informed he’s made the Opening Day roster for the Athletics.
Murdock was a Rule 5 draft pick by the A’s in December from the Royals, so the Athletics have to keep the 26-year-old on the roster for the entire season. He’ll likely be a low-leverage reliever to begin the season, but could work into a more relevant role by the end of the campaign.

Jorge Polanco is in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Astros.
Polanco is at DH on Monday evening following a two-game absence. Mariners general manager Justin Hollander clarified to reporters that Polanco has been dealing with a side issue recently, which was the result of an awkward swing last week. The positive news is that Polanco isn’t dealing with any knee issues, which have plagued him for the past few years.
  • MIL Right Fielder #28
Brewers acquired OF Daz Cameron from the Orioles for LHP Grant Wolfram.
Cameron was a notable prospect last decade, but never really carved out a permanent role at the highest level, batting .201/.263/.330 with 10 homers and 14 steals in 430 plate appearances at the highest level since 2020. He’ll head to Triple-A Nashville as extra organizational outfield depth for Milwaukee.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #50
Orioles acquired LHP Grant Wolfram from the Brewers for OF Daz Cameron.
Wolfram was designated for assignment earlier on Monday and has quickly found a new home. The 28-year-old southpaw has yet to pitch in the majors, but compiled a strong 3.13 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 69/27 K/BB ratio across 60 1/3 innings (46 appearances) last year between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers’ system.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #68
George Kirby (shoulder) has progressed to throwing bullpen sessions.
There haven’t been a ton of updates regarding Kirby’s recovery from right shoulder inflammation that derailed his spring ramp-up, but he appears to be getting close to facing hitters again as he builds up his throwing program in Arizona at extended spring training. The 27-year-old will need a handful of minor league rehab starts before he’s ready to make his season debut, but we’re expecting he’ll make it back to Seattle at some point in May.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #47
Matt Brash (shoulder) is scheduled to face hitters this weekend in a live batting practice session.
Brash is creeping closer to starting a minor league rehab assignment as he enters the final stages of his recovery from Tommy John surgery. The 26-year-old righty got into one Cactus League contest and should be ready to rejoin Seattle’s high-leverage mix in late April or early May, barring something unexpected.
  • SEA Right Fielder #8
Mariners recalled OF Dominic Canzone from Triple-A Tacoma.
Canzone gets the call to replace an injured Victor Robles (shoulder) on Seattle’s active roster fresh off a two-homer explosion on Sunday at Triple-A Tacoma. The 27-year-old outfielder has hit .208/.265/.390 with 14 homers and two steals in 370 plate appearances over 126 games in the big leagues dating back to 2023. He’s not a recommended fantasy option outside of extremely deep AL-only formats, but he’s probably going to get a chance to play regularly for at least a couple weeks.
  • SEA Center Fielder #10
Mariners placed OF Victor Robles on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder dislocation.
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander told reporters Robles will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the shoulder injury that he suffered during Sunday’s game against the Giants when he crashed into netting in the right-field corner while making a phenomenal catch. There should be an update on his status at some point later this week, but fantasy managers should anticipate him missing at least a couple weeks, even in a best-case scenario. It’ll be Dominic Canzone coming up to take his spot on Seattle’s active roster.
  • DET Second Baseman #77
Andy Ibáñez hit a three-run homer off Carlos Rodón to help propel the Tigers past the Yankees 6-2 on Monday.
Ibáñez was in the lineup for just one of Detroit’s first seven games this season, as the team faced a long stretch of righties, but he’s now played three in a row and driven in a run each game. It makes us wonder if the Tigers will try to squeeze him in there against a righty in Carlos Carrasco on Tuesday. It doesn’t help his case that both Justyn-Henry Malloy and Zach McKinstry have been productive thus far. Still, he should be a better hitter than McKinstry going forward.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #12
Casey Mize limited the Yankees to one run over six innings in a victory Monday.
Mize gave up a bunch of flyballs today, but being that he was pitching on a 38-degree day at Comerica Park, it didn’t hurt him at all. He wound up allowing four hits, walking three and striking out six on his way to allowing one run. Opposing starter Carlos Rodón allowed four hits, walked three and struck out eight while recording the same number of outs, yet he allowed six runs. Mike will take a 2-0 record and a 0.77 ERA into a start against the Twins this weekend.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #55
Carlos Rodón yielded six runs — five earned — in six-plus innings Monday in a loss to the Yankees.
The first three runs came on an Andy Ibáñez homer in the third after Rodón appeared to have Ryan Kriedler struck out to end the inning. Rodón was rightfully upset that the pitch at the knees wasn’t called. Still, sometimes if a catcher moves his glove two feet to “frame” a pitch, the ump might understandably think it was a ball in the first place. The final run came in the seventh after Aaron Boone tried to steal one extra out with Rodón in a lefty-lefty matchup. Colt Keith went on to single, and he scored after Rodón was lifted. Rodón still wound up with eight strikeouts today. He gave up just four hits, but all three guys he walked came around to score. Even though he’s throwing well, he’s 1-2 with a 5.19 ERA. He’ll face the Giants next.
