Luis Campusano blasted a three-run home run in a losing effort against the Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon.
The 26-year-old backstop made the most of his lone plate appearance on Sunday, crushing a 391-foot (102.5 mph EV) three-run shot off of Jeff Brigham that pulled the Padres to within a run at 5-4. Unfortunately, that would be as close as they would get. Campusano, like all of the Padres’ catchers, has struggled this spring — hitting just .182 (4-for-22) with a homer and four RBI.

Ian Hamilton (infection) will throw a live bullpen Monday.
Hamilton will get the live session in, and the 29-year-old could make an appearance in a Grapefruit League soon after. Hamilton has been sidelined with an infection, but the right-hander could be ready for Opening Day if there are no more setbacks.
  • MIN Shortstop #23
An MRI confirmed that Royce Lewis has a ‘moderate’ left hamstring strain.
Lewis left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, and the imaging confirmed the strain. The 25-year-old has shown upper-echelon upside when healthy enough to play, but this is yet another setback for the former first-overall pick. He did tell reporters that he believed this injury isn’t close to as serious as the quad injury that sidelined him early in 2024. With Lewis out of action for the foreseeable future, it could be Brooks Lee at third for the Twins.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #79
Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports that Logan Henderson is a candidate to open the season in the rotation for the Brewers.
The Brewers announced Monday that Tobias Myers will open the season on the injured list with an oblique strain, and they also are missing Brandon Woodruff, D.L. Hall, Aaron Ashby and Robert Gasser due to various injuries. Henderson will start Monday’s spring game against the Padres, and if that goes well — and possibly even if it doesn’t — the 23-year-old has a good chance of being one of the five starters to begin the 2025 campaign. He’ll be a matchup-dependent streamer if/when he does earn that final rotation spot.
  • STL Center Fielder #22
Michael Siani was scratched from Monday’s game due to illness.
Siani was slated to start in the outfield but the Cardinals will give the 25-year-old a day off — at the least — to recover. Victor Scott II is starting in Siani’s place.
  • CWS Catcher #89
White Sox reassigned RHPs Mason Adams, Justin Dunn, Peyton Pallette and Jonathan Heasley, Cs Kyle Teel and Edgar Quero, INFs Andre Lipcius and Cal Mitchell and OFs Zach DeLoach and Corey Julks to minor league camp.
Teel and Quero are the big names here, as they are two of the top catching prospects in baseball. Both have a chance to make their MLB debut this summer, with Teel being the better bet for fantasy success early on. That’s more compliment to Teel than insult to Quero.
  • CWS Center Fielder #7
White Sox optioned OF Dominic Fletcher to Triple-A Charlotte.
Fletcher struggled in the Cactus League, and wasn’t a great bet for the roster even with the Andrew Benintendi (hand) injury. Fletcher will likely be up-and-down throughout 2025.
  • FA Catcher #2
    Braves released C Curt Casali.
Casali was signed in the middle of January as a non-roster invite, but the 36-year-old didn’t do enough to make the roster even with Sean Murphy (ribs) picking up an injury. Casali will likely see interest from other clubs on a minor-league deal.
  • ATL Catcher #4
Braves reassigned C Sandy Leon to minor league camp.
Leon will not be the backup backstop to open the season for Atlanta. That honor will likely go to Chadwick Tromp with Drake Baldwin expected to catch until Sean Murphy (ribs) is ready to go around May.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #34
Michael King will be the Opening Day starter for the Padres against Atlanta.
King has been shaky in spring training with a 6.23 ERA over his Cactus League appearances, but to say that doesn’t matter is an understatement. The 29-year-old was a breakout star for San Diego, and he offers potential to be an SP1 for fantasy managers during the 2025 campaign. He’ll square off against Chris Sale in the opener.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #70
Angels optioned RHP Michael Petersen to Triple-A Salt Lake and reassigned C Juan Flores to minor league camp.
Petersen will begin the season in Triple-A with the Bees, but the 30-year-old has a good shot to make appearances with the Angels at some point in 2025. It just won’t be in a role that has fantasy relevancy
