Yuesi Kikuchi looked dominant in Friday’s spring tune-up against the Royals, racking up eight strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings of one-run baseball.
The 33-year-old southpaw allowed five hits and three walks on the afternoon. The lone tally against him came as Kikuchi uncorked a wild pitch with two outs in the third inning and Hunter Renfroe alertly scampered home. He has had mixed results in his first two spring starts with the Angels, registering a 3.86 ERA, troublesome 1.71 WHIP and a 11/4 K/BB ratio over his first seven innings of work.
