Braves signed INF Matthew Batten to a minor league contract.
Batten heads to Triple-A Gwinnett as extra infield depth after getting into 59 contests over the last three seasons for the Padres. The 29-year-old holds an underwhelming .239/.337/.345 triple-slash line with two homers and two steals in 164 plate appearances at the highest level.

Yankees activated RHP Yerry De los Santos from the 15-day injured list.
De los Santos rejoins New York’s relief corps prior to Saturday afternoon’s showdown against the Phillies. The 27-year-old reliever compiled a strong 1.80 ERA across 20 innings (14 appearances) before hitting the injured list back on June 19 with right elbow discomfort. He’ll operate in middle relief and can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes.
Jones' power production can't be ignored
James Schiano evaluates the potential of New York Yankees top prospect Spencer Jones, explaining why the 24-year-old outfielder's power production can't be ignored as he's compiled 29 home runs in the minors this season.
  • NYY 2nd Baseman #90
Yankees optioned INF Jorbit Vivas to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
There simply isn’t a spot for Vivas within New York’s infield mix following the acquisition of veteran third baseman Ryan McMahon from the Rockies. The 24-year-old rookie has batted .161 (9-for-56) with one homer and five RBI in 29 games this season at the big-league level.
  • NYY Relief Pitcher #57
Yankees optioned RHP Scott Effross to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Effross was shipped back to the minors following Friday’s blowout loss to the Phillies where he was crushed for four runs in his lone inning of work. The 31-year-old righty should return at some point during the final two months of the season.
  • NYY Center Fielder #78
Spencer Jones was held out of Friday’s lineup for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with back spasms.
There doesn’t appear to be any truth to social media speculation that Jones was pulled from Friday’s lineup because of a potential trade. The 24-year-old slugging prospect has crushed 13 home runs in 19 games at the Triple-A level, but has also struck out 31 percent of the time during that span. The 6-foot-7 power hitter’s omnipresent contact issues remain his largest obstacle to sustained fantasy relevance at the highest level, but his over-the-fence power ceiling is virtually unmatched in the prospect landscape.
  • BAL Catcher #72
Orioles C/1B prospect Samuel Basallo went 5-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Friday for Triple-A Norfolk.
Basallo’s first career five-hit effort included three extra-base knocks, including a seventh-inning homer, as he reached the 20-homer threshold for the second time in his career. The 20-year-old power-hitting prodigy missed time earlier this week with an oblique injury, but didn’t show any lingering effects in one of the strongest performances of his career. Basallo would be capable of making an instant impact at the highest level, and offer immediate fantasy relevance, but the Orioles have shown zero sense to promote him to the majors before the 2025 season wraps up.
  • CHC Left Fielder #30
Kyle Tucker (knee) went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Friday in his return to the lineup.
Tucker returned to Chicago’s lineup for Friday’s series opener against the White Sox after sitting out Wednesday’s contest against Kansas City with a right knee contusion. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #12
Josh Naylor went 1-for-4 on Friday in his Mariners debut.
Naylor started at first base and batted cleanup in his Seattle debut against the division-rival Angels. The 28-year-old power-hitter was acquired earlier this week from the Diamondbacks in exchange for a pair of pitching prospects. He adds some much-needed thump to the heart of Seattle’s lineup for the final two months before heading to free agency.
  • SEA Center Fielder #44
Julio Rodriguez homered twice in a 3-2 loss to the Angels on Friday in extra innings.
It’s impressive to have a two-homer game against anyone. Hitting two homers against someone like José Soriano — a pitcher that had allowed all of five homers in 120 innings this year coming into Friday evening — is another. The pair of homers bring his total to 17 on the season, and he’s now plated 54 runs. Second-half Julio appears to be here, and fantasy managers should be thrilled.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #59
José Soriano allowed two runs over six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Friday.
Soriano allowed four hits with one walk and five strikeouts. The right-hander gave up both runs on homers to Julio Rodríguez, and that’s just the sixth and seventh homer he’s allowed all season. It’s nice to see back-to-back strong starts for Soriano, as he’s had a tendency of following quality starts with less-than-spectacular ones. He’ll get a chance to make it three in a row versus the Rangers on Wednesday.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #22
Bryan Woo struck out six over six-plus inning of two-run baseball in a no-decision versus the Angels on Friday.
Woo allowed both of his runs in the first inning on a two-run double by Jo Adell. The right-hander was exceptional from that point on while allowing just four hits in the outing with a pair of walks. Wood has now pitched at least six innings in every start this season, and it hasn’t been just quantity as seen in his 2.91 ERA. He’ll have a chance to keep the good run going against the Athletics on Wednesday.
