Jasson Domínguez went 2-for-4 and hit his first spring homer against the Phillies on Tuesday.
The homer to left-center was wind-aided to the point that Domínguez stopped at second base, unsure that it had left the yard. Domínguez has had a couple of incidents in left field this spring, but there’s little doubt that he’ll be an everyday guy for the Yankees, and he might even get to lead off initially. Given the amount of hype he’s received over the years, it’s kind of bizarre he’s not going earlier in drafts. He has a pretty good shot of going 20 HR-20 SB as a rookie and proving to be a bit of a fantasy bargain.

Ari Alexander of KPRC2 reports that Red Sox’ prospect Kristian Campbell has been informed that he has made the team’s Opening Day roster.
That’s certainly the direction that this has been trending in for the past few days now, but it’s nice to hear confirmation. The Red Sox will still need to make an official roster move and clear a spot on their 40-man roster, but the 22-year-old phenom looks like he should be the starting second baseman when the Red Sox kick off their 2025 season on Thursday. He could wind up being an impact contributor immediately from a fantasy perspective.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #48
The newly acquired Ian Anderson will open up in the Angels bullpen, manager Ron Washington said.
That seems like the right call. Washington still wouldn’t confirm whether Reid Detmers or Jack Kochanowicz would open up as the fifth starter.
  • NYM Left Fielder #25
Alexander Canario had two homers, including a grand slam, in the Mets’ 10-2 rout of the Marlins on Sunday.
He also singled. When we checked in on Canario a week ago, he was just 3-for-25 with a .621 OPS this spring. Now he’s 11-for-35 with a 1.058 OPS. He still doesn’t make sense for the Mets roster, but it seems far more likely now that he’ll be claimed by some team (Colorado?) if he goes on waivers.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #46
Griffin Canning allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings and struck out six against the Marlins on Sunday.
Canning was officially named to the Mets rotation today, and he’ll start game three against the Astros on Sunday. He’s probably not an option in shallow mixed leagues, but those in deeper formats could take a chance. He wound up with a 1.88 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings this spring.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #55
Connor Gillispie was tagged for six runs in 4 1/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Mets.
It doesn’t matter much now; Gillispie is a lock for a Marlins rotation that’s lost two starters this spring (and Braxton Garrett over the winter). He’s probably going to wind up in middle relief at some point, but he probably is one of the five best options right now.
  • LAA Third Baseman #5
Yoán Moncada is wearing a brace on his thumb, but the Angels are still hoping he can play Thursday.
Moncada isn’t currently throwing or hitting. He’s also just 4-for-28 overall this spring, so it seems like an IL stint might be for the best even if he’s physically capable of playing Thursday. If Moncada does miss some time, Luis Rengifo will slide to third base, probably opening up second for, gulp, Tim Anderson.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #40
Chris Bassitt limited the Pirates to one run over 5 2/3 innings the Jays’ 2-1 victory Sunday.
Bassitt’s velocity started down about three mph at the beginning of the spring, but he’s back to within one mph of 2024 now. His regular-season debut will come Sunday in the series finale against the Orioles. He’s a reliable presence for the Blue Jays and at the back of mixed-league rotations.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #6
Bailey Falter yielded two runs in five innings Sunday in a loss to the Blue Jays.
Falter dealt with a little fatigue earlier this month, but things seem back to normal now. He ends the spring with a 5.25 ERA in four starts. If all goes well, he’ll be something close to a league-average starter for the Pirates.
  • PIT Center Fielder #28
Tommy Pham went 0-for-3 with a walk from the leadoff spot against the Blue Jays on Sunday.
Pham probably won’t be very happy if the Pirates stick him into a platoon role at the beginning of the season, but based on Jack Suwinski’s performance this spring, it’d likely be the right play for the team. Even if Suwinski, who had a 110.6-mph double today, weren’t out-OPSing Pham by 400 points at the moment (1.022 to .624), he’d still project as the better hitter against righties. He’s the better defender, too.
  • SF Center Fielder #51
Jung Hoo Lee is playing in Sunday’s exhibition game after the Giants’ Triple-A affiliate.
Lee missed eight days with a back problem. Barring a setback, he figures to hit third for the Giants on Opening Day.
