Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Rays have agreed to terms with Ha-Seong Kim on a two-year contract.
Kim will reportedly get $29 million for the two-year pact. The 29-year-old also reportedly has as the ability to opt out of the deal after the 2025 season. Kim hit just 11 homers with a .700 OPS in 2024 before undergoing labrum surgery in August, but he’s viewed as one of the best defenders up the middle in the sport, and his quality approach at the plate fits in well with the Tampa Bay lineup. He should be an everyday player for the Rays, but Mark Feinsand of MLB.com notes that the expectation is that Kim won’t be ready until May.
Fantasy 2B ranks: Betts at No. 1; Bogaerts a value
Eric Samulski shares why second base will present an "interesting dilemma" in 2025 fantasy baseball drafts, including why managers should expect to pay up early or target value later on when eyeing the position.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #85

Dustin May is the listed starter for Sunday’s game against the Padres.
That’ll be May’s first start — albeit in an exhibition game rather than a regular-season one — since May 17, 2023. The right-hander showed electric stuff before injuries cost him essentially two seasons, and while he’s unlikely to make the Los Angeles rotation out of camp, he’s someone who has to be monitored for the short- and long-term.
  • MIL Left Fielder #16
Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Brewers are signing Mark Canha to a minor league contract and inviting him to spring training.
It’s a return to the Brewers for Canha, a place where he had success as he hit .287/.373/.427 with five homers and four stolen bases over 178 plate appearances. The 36-year-old veteran will get a chance to show what he can do against left-handed pitching, and it wouldn’t be an upset if he made the Opening Day roster with a good showing in Arizona.
  • LAD Second Baseman
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Hyeseong Kim will see action in center field this spring.
Kim, 26, has seen time at second and shortstop so far this spring and will continue to do so, but the Dodgers want to see his speed in action in the middle of the outfield. Getting eligibility there on top of the middle infield would be a major boon for Kim’s fantasy prospective; especially with a chance to play in this loaded Los Angeles lineup.
  • LAD Outfielder
Zyhir Hope homered in a loss to the Royals on Saturday.
Hope came off the bench to deliver the solo blast. The 20-year-old is viewed as one of the best hitting prospects in the Dodgers’ system, and while there’s some debate regarding his long-term potential, he’s still a prospect that has to be rostered in all eligible keeper formats.
  • LAD Third Baseman #13
Max Muncy hit a three-run homer and scored three times in a loss ot the Royals.
Muncy connected on a three-run blast to tie the game at 5-5 in the second. The 34-year-old disappointed at the end of the postseason for the Dodgers, but playing in this lineup and with his impressive power make him a solid bet to be a contributor in a few categories for the 2025 campaign. Just remember that steals and hitting for average won’t be part of that story.
  • SEA First Baseman
Hogan Windish hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
Windish looked like he was going to be the hero in this one with a two-run blast in the ninth. The 25-year-old hit 15 homers and stole 19 bases in Double-A last year, but also struck out 167 times while hitting just .218. He profiles as an organizational depth piece at this stage of his career.
  • LAA Shortstop #19
Kyren Paris hit a walk-off single to give the Angels an 11-10 win over the Mariners on Saturday.
This was a very Cactus League game. Paris gives the Angels the exhibition win with a single to score a pair that also featured an error. The 23-year-old was awful in his 59 at-bats with the Angels in 2024 with a .118 average and 17/7 K/BB rate, but he wouldn’t be the first — nor last — hitter to struggle before figuring things out. He still should be ignored in redraft leagues, but there’s some keeper-league potential here.
  • SD Center Fielder #3
Jackson Merrill went 1-for-2 with a two-run single in a loss to the Athletics on Friday.
Merrill drove in a pair with a single in the second inning. The 21-year-old was the runner-up to Paul Skenes in the 2024 Rookie of the Year race while hitting .292 with 24 homers and 16 steals over 593 plate appearances. Even if that’s his ceiling, that makes Merrill a potential fantasy star for the 2025 campaign. It’s not crazy to think he could be even better in his second season.
  • ATH Right Fielder #4
Lawrence Butler hit a homer and scored twice in a loss to the Padres on Saturday.
Butler smoked a 423-foot homer in the sixth inning for his first Cactus League homer of the season. The 24-year-old is currently in talks for a long-term extension after showing out in the second half of the 2024 campaign. He’ll hit at the top of a solid Athletics’ lineup, and while the strikeouts are a bit concerning, the rest of the metrics suggest he can be a strong fantasy option again in 2025.
  • CIN Shortstop #44
Elly De La Cruz hit a pair of solo homers Saturday to propel the Reds past the Guardians 6-3.
Those were his only at-bats, too. De La Cruz’s homers came in at 450 and 409 feet. He totaled two homers in 58 plate appearances last spring, so he’s already matched that. De La Cruz should be a top-five pick in every mixed draft this spring,
