Dodgers avoided arbitration with RHP Tony Gonsolin by agreeing to a one-year, $5.4 million contract.
Gonsolin just finished up a two-year, $6.65 million contract that he signed a super-two player after his breakthrough 2022. He spent last season working his way back from Tommy John, and though the Dodgers considered activating him in the postseason after his successful September rehab stint, they ultimately decided against it. He should be part of the team’s six-man rotation next season.

Victor Caratini went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run against the Rangers on Friday.
Caratini’s home run was No. 10 on the year for him. The 31-year-old catcher is coming off a career-high 111 OPS+ last year and continuing his hot hitting this year. Caratini is hitting .256 with a .750 OPS and 32 RBI this season. He’s still been irrelevant in most fantasy leagues, but has been essential in two-catcher AL-Only formats.

  • TEX Left Fielder #36
Wyatt Langford went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run and a stolen base against the Astros.
It was a breakout game for Langford, who hit a two-run home run off Ryan Gusto in the seventh inning. It was home run No. 15 for him on the season. The 23-year-old outfielder hasn’t had the breakout season many pegged for him preseason, but once again showed glimpses of that promise with four hits, a home run and a stolen base. Langford is hitting .246 with a .767 OPS and 38 RBI on the year.

  • MIN Relief Pitcher #59
Jhoan Duran tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Pirates on Friday.
Duran’s save was No. 15 on the season for him. The 27-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 1.49 as he closed the door on the Pirates to preserve a one-run lead. Duran continues to dominate this year and could be in line for his first 30-save season.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #30
Paul Skenes allowed two runs in five innings and took the loss against the Twins on Friday.
Skenes gave up five hits, walked none and struck out six. The 23-year-old right-hander has now won only one game in his last 14 starts. Skenes has thrown more than 78 pitches only once in his last four starts as the Pirates have been conservative with their ace pitcher. He’ll take a 2.01 ERA and 131/30 K/BB ratio in 121 innings into the All-Star break.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #41
Joe Ryan allowed one run in five innings and got the win in the Twins’ 2-1 victory over the Pirates on Friday.
