White Sox selected the contract of INF Colson Montgomery and RHP Juan Carela from Triple-A Charlotte.
Montgomery is considered not just one of the top prospects in the Chicago system, but one of the best shortstop prospects in the sport. He did struggle in 2024 however with just a .710 OPS in Triple-A, but there’s still big-time upside in his bat. Carela has a chance to make starts in 2024 after reaching Double-A and forging a 3.71 ERA over 23 starts.

Brooks Baldwin hit a two-run homer in a loss to the White Sox on Thursday.
Baldwin got the White Sox on the board with a two-run homer off Dustin May, but it came in the eighth inning with the White Sox trailing by six runs. Still counts. Baldwin has gone deep four times in 2025, and offers zero redraft value.
Hold Muncy if placed on injured list
Eric Samulski advises fantasy managers to "hold" Max Muncy if placed on the injured list, who has produced in a big way since the beginning of May, and discusses the outlook for Dodgers' call-up Esteury Ruiz.
  • LAD Right Fielder #50
Mookie Betts hit a solo homer and scored twice in a 6-2 win for the Dodgers on Thursday over the White Sox.
It’s the 10th homer of the season for Betts, but the first time that he’s gone deep since June 8; a lengthy spell for a player of his quality. The 32-year-old scuffled for the majority of the last month as seen in a .633 OPS, but everyone is aware of how good Betts remains and what he’s capable of. It’s still nice to get a reminder from a player who is slashing a disappointing .246/.321/.383 over his first 79 games.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #43
Aaron Civale allowed five runs — two earned — while throwing five innings against the Dodgers on Thursday and picking up a loss.
Yes, there were three unearned runs, but don’t let it fool you into thinking Civale was fine outside of his defense. The 30-year-old gave up a pair of run-scoring doubles to Freddie Freeman and a two-run homer to Michael Conforto over the first three innings. He’s now 1-5 on the season, and he’ll try and get his first victory as a member of the White Sox next week against the Blue Jays.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #85
Dustin May allowed two runs over seven innings while striking out nine and picking up a win over the White Sox on Thursday.
May took a shutout into the eighth, but Brooks Baldwin hit a two-run homer off him with no outs to turn a dominant start into one that was still pretty darn good. The 27-year-old allowed only four hits throughout the contest and walked one while pounding the strike zone as seen in 62-of-86 pitches landing. This was a nice bounceback from the clunker against Kansas City last weekend, and a reminder that May has exceptional talent. He’ll face the Brewers on Wednesday and look to build off this outing.
  • LAD 1st Baseman #5
Freddie Freeman doubled twice and drove in three runs to help the Dodgers to a win Thursday over the White Sox.
Freeman doubled in Shohei Ohtani in the first, and then doubled home Ohtani and Mookie Betts in the third. The 35-year-old slugger is now up to 47 RBI, and he isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
  • ARI 3rd Baseman #28
Eugenio Suárez hit a solo homer in a loss Thursday to the Giants.
Suárez got Arizona on the board with a solo homer off Robbie Ray in the fourth inning. Former Mariner on former Mariner crime. The 33-year-old continues to pile up the roundtrippers, as he’s up to 27 on the season with a slugging percentage of .561. The question is what team Suárez is playing for at the end of the month.
  • ARI Center Fielder #4
Ketel Marte hit a solo homer in a loss to the Giants on Thursday.
Marte hit one of two solo homers off Robbie Ray for the D-backs, but those were the only two runs Arizona was able to score off Ray. He’s up to 19 homers and 40 RBI and remains as good — if not better — than any second baseman in the sport.
  • SF Shortstop #2
Willy Adames scored three runs and doubled twice in a win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
Adames now has 13 doubles on the season. One of those two-baggers drove in Mike Yastrzemski to give the Giants a 3-0 lead, and that’s all the offense Robbie Ray would need. Adames is still disappointing with a slash of .218/.305/.358, but he remains a good bet to see significant improvement over the final 75 games.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #32
Brandon Pfaadt gave up four runs while working six innings in a loss to the Giants on Thursday.
Pfaadt did strike out eight, but he allowed six hits with two walks while allowing all four runs in the first three innings. He was going to have to be near his best to beat Robbie Ray on Thursday. He was not. Pfaadt now has a bloated 5.42 ERA and will get a chance to improve that number against the Angels next Sunday, but fantasy managers shouldn’t count on it. Not at this point.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #38
Robbie Ray went all nine innings and struck out seven to help the Giants to a 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
Ray allowed only three hits, and two of those were solo homers. He needed just 102 pitches to get through the outing; 69 of those landing for strikes. Ray has been fantastic in his first full season with the Giants, and this improves his record to 9-3 with an ERA of 2.68. His final start before a likely trip to the All-Star game will take place Tuesday against the Phillies.
