Braves selected the contract of RHP Rolddy Munoz from Double-A Mississippi.
The elevation protects Munoz from next month’s Rule 5 Draft ahead of this week’s reserve list deadline and keeps him in the Braves organization heading into 2025. The 24-year-old pitched the majority of the season in Double-A and had a mediocre season, registering a 4.24 ERA in 51 innings in 38 appearances and one start. However, he did have 75 strikeouts and 22 walks with three home runs allowed in those innings, which speaks to his potential upside as a reliever with swing-and-miss potential.

White Sox designated LHP Jared Shuster for assignment.
The White Sox needed a spot on the 40-man roster to activate Martin Perez from the 60-day IL, so they decided to let Shuster go. The left-hander had an 8.04 ERA in 15 2/3 innings for the White Sox out of the bullpen this season.
Scoop up Astros' Javier following return to mound
Following Cristian Javier's return to the mound, Eric Samulski shares what fantasy managers can expect from the Astros' starter moving forward, including why he can overcome command issues to reemerge as an asset.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #54
White Sox activated LHP Martín Pérez from the 60-day injured list.
Pérez has been out since April with a flexor strain, and there was some concern he wouldn’t make it back at all this season, so the White Sox are happy to put him back into the rotation. He threw four innings on Friday for Double-A Birmingham and was up to 58 pitches, so he could push 70 pitches whenever the White Sox decide to give him a start.
  • BOS 2nd Baseman #28
Kristian Campbell went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI for Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.
Even with his early struggles following his demotion to Triple-A, Campbell is hitting .280/.408/.411 in 40 games at Triple-A with five home runs, 21 RBI, and two steals. He has also been playing good defense at first base and should be an option for the Red Sox with Abraham Toro starting to go cold at the plate since July 1st.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #45
Taj Bradley allowed six runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings for Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.
Bradley also struck out six and didn’t walk a single batter. While the statline isn’t good, we know that Bradley is working on adjusting his pitch mix and approach since coming to Minnesota. For a pitcher who has had command issues in the past, not walking a single batter is a good sign, and he did throw 66 of his 96 pitches for strikes. He’ll hope to turn things around in his next start.
  • CIN 3rd Baseman #84
Reds 3B prospect Sal Stewart went 1-for-3 with two walks, a home run, and two runs scored for Triple-A Louisville.
Stewart is the 31st-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. The 21-year-old is hitting .313/.383/.614 with five home runs, 15 RBI, and a 12/10 K/BB ratio in 22 games since being promoted to Triple-A. While it’s unlikely that Stewart will get lots of at-bats in Cincinnati this season, the larger question is where he fits in 2026 with Ke’Bryan Hayes now on the team at third base. Stewart has played 10 games at second base this season, so that may be his path to a roster spot in 2026, but the Reds would need to figure out where to play Matt McLain.
  • STL Shortstop #87
Cardinals INF prospect JJ Wetherholt went 2-for-5 with a solo home run for Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old is the 6th-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. Since being promoted to Triple-A, he’s hitting .301/.394/.639 with seven home runs, 14 RBI, and a 16/12 K/BB ratio in 22 games. He has played both shortstop and third base since being in Memphis and looks like a candidate to be promoted to St. Louis sometime this week or next, once the risk of him losing rookie eligibility is behind him.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher
SNY’s Steve Gelbs said that both RHP prospects Nolan McLean and Brandon Sproat are “definitely in the conversation” to join the Mets’ rotation.
The Mets recently moved Frankie Montas to the bullpen but have yet to announce his replacement in the rotation. Sproat started last Saturday, and McLean started on Sunday, so both of them would be an option. While McLean has been the more dynamic pitcher in Triple-A, Sproat has fewer innings concerns and could provide depth that McLean might not be able to. Sproat was a starter for the University of Florida and has thrown plenty of innings in a season many times, while McLean is a former two-way player who is already coming up on his career-high innings. The choice for the Mets may come down to innings or upside.
  • TB 1st Baseman
Rays 1B prospect Bob Seymour went 4-for-4 with three solo home runs for Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.
The hulking first baseman hit home runs in his first three at-bats, all off of Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Chad Patrick. Seymour now has 29 home runs in 104 games this season after hitting 28 across 123 games at Double-A and Triple-A last year. The 26-year-old has massive power but also some real swing-and-miss issues with an 18 percent swinging strike rate and a 113/38 K/BB ratio. However, he does have a .283 career minor league batting average, so he has been able to make enough contact to put himself on the radar as a potential late-season call-up option.
  • PIT Shortstop #17
Pirates INF prospect Cam Devanney went 1-for-4 with a walk and a home run for Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old now has 20 home runs and a .905 OPS in 89 Triple-A games this season. Devanney has struggled a bit in August after a hot month of July, but he has played shortstop, third base, and second base this season and should be up to get a look in Pittsburgh later this summer.
  • LAA Right Fielder #3
Taylor Ward went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored in the Angels’ 7-6 win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Ward put the Angels on the board with a base hit in the first inning to drive in a run. He then took Emmet Sheehan deep for a solo homer in the third. Ward started the bottom of the tenth inning as the runner on second and scored the game-winning run on a base hit by Jo Adell. The 31-year-old outfielder has hit 28 homers while driving in 89 RBI, hitting .234/.314/.489 across 509 plate appearances.
