Braves signed C Yohel Pozo to a minor league deal.
Pozo had been with the Rangers since signing as an international free agent in 2016 before spending this past season in the Athletics organization. He made his MLB debut in 2021, slashing .284/.312/.378 with one home run and nine RBI in 21 games. He has not appeared in an MLB game since then but will serve as organizational catching depth.

Astros’ general manager Dana Brown noted on Sunday that Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) is a week or so away from beginning a minor league rehab assignment
The 25-year-old hurler has been shelved since early April when he fractured his thumb during a freak accident during batting practice. He has been throwing bullpen sessions without issue and it sounds like he’ll return to live game action shortly. He’ll probably need two or three tune-ups in the minor leagues before he’s an option to return to the Astros’ rotation, but that time is coming soon.
Players to watch in MLB All-Star Futures Game
James Schiano spotlights the rising stars to watch in this weekend's 2025 All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta.

Byron Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Pirates on Sunday.
A day after hitting for the cycle, Buxton had two hits and an RBI in the Twins’ final game before the All-Star break. The 31-year-old outfielder tied the game with an RBI double off Mitch Keller in the third inning. It was the only Twins run in the loss to the Pirates. Buxton takes a .289 average, .925 OPS and 56 RBI into the All-Star break.

David Bednar tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Twins on Sunday.
  • HOU Center Fielder #6
Astros’ general manager Dana Brown said Sunday that he expects Jake Meyers (calf) to miss a minimum of three weeks.
There had been hope that Meyers would require only a minimum stint on the injured list and be ready to return coming out of the All-Star break, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to be the case. If all goes well in his recovery and he avoids any setbacks, he could rejoin the Astros before the end of July.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #24
Simeon Woods Richardson allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Pirates on Sunday.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #23
Mitch Keller allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Pirates’ 2-1 victory over the Twins on Sunday.
  • MIL Right Fielder #10
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy told reporters after Sunday’s game that Sal Frelick (hamstring) will undergo an MRI exam.
Murphy also noted that Frelick had been battling through a hamstring injury before aggravating it while making a sliding catch during Sunday’s contest. It sounds like even with the All-Star break afoot, that Frelick could require a stint on the injured list. Expect the Brewers to provide another update on his status once that imaging is completed.

X-rays on the injured left foot of Rays’ infielder Ha-Seong Kim came back negative for any fractures on Sunday.
Rays’ skipper Kevin Cash noted that he would have a better idea on Kim’s status after seeing how he feels on Monday. With the All-Star break providing a couple of days to rest, it doesn’t sound like he’s going to require a trip to the injured list, but we’ll have to wait until Thursday to see how he progresses.
  • MIL Right Fielder #11
Jackson Chourio hit a three-run homer Sunday in the Brewers’ 8-1 takedown of the Nationals.
The Brewers were up 3-1 in the eighth when Chourio essentially put the game away against Jackson Rutledge. Still, the Crew wanted more. Brice Turang followed with another homer and then a walk, a HBP, a single and a walk brought a fifth run homer. Chourio’s homer was his 16th. He’s now hit in 11 straight games, and his current .758 OPS is his highest mark to end a game since he was at .761 on May 10.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #51
Freddy Peralta closed out the first half with his 11th victory after pitching 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball Sunday against the Nationals.
Peralta took a no-hitter into the sixth and almost got through seven scoreless, but Daylen Lile was able to drop a soft liner in front of Isaac Collins to plate the Nationals’ lone run and end Peralta’s outing. Peralta, who made the NL All-Star team but won’t pitch in the game, will take a 2.66 ERA into the second half. He’ll probably next work Saturday against the Dodgers.
