Miami Marlins named Clayton McCullough as their new manager.
The move was rumored over the weekend and now it has become official. The 44-year-old McCullough spent the past four seasons as the Dodgers’ first base coach under Dave Roberts and spent six years before that as the club’s minor league field coordinator. McCullough has interviewed for managerial jobs before and was a finalist for the Kansas City Royals managing job that went to Matt Quatraro two years ago. He will be tasked with taking over a Marlins team that just lost 100 games in the 2024 season.
  • ATH Center Fielder #1

Athletics placed OF Denzel Clarke on the 10-day injured list with an adductor strain.
Clarke is facing a multi-week absence after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 adductor strain. The 25-year-old rookier has been a revelation this season in center field, making some of the most incredible catches in recent memory. His absence creates an opportunity for prospect Colby Thomas to play regularly at the highest level.
Dodgers relievers to add following Scott's injury
With the Dodgers "all but a lock" to add a reliever before the trade deadline following Tanner Scott's injury, Eric Samulski assesses which arms could be in line for precious save opportunities.
  • ATH Shortstop #10
Athletics placed INF Max Muncy on the 10-day injured list with a fractured right hand.
Initial X-rays came back negative, but Muncy underwent additional imaging on Tuesday that revealed the fracture. No word yet whether he’ll require surgery. There’s a strong possibility his rookie campaign is over. The 22-year-old infielder suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch during Monday’s game against the Rangers. It’ll likely be veteran Luis Urías taking over at the hot corner in his absence.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #27
Aaron Nola (rib, ankle) threw a 42-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.
Nola will progress to facing hitters on Friday in a live batting practice session, which puts him on track to kick off a minor league rehab assignment by the end of July. The 32-year-old righty has been on the shelf since mid-May recovering from ankle and rib issues.
  • BAL Catcher #35
Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters Adley Rutschman (oblique) could possibly be activated this weekend.
Rutschman will kick off his rehab assignment on Tuesday night with Triple-A Norfolk and it sounds like there’s optimism he’ll make it back to Baltimore later this week. The 27-year-old backstop has been out since late June recovering from a left oblique strain. His absence has created a Grand Canyon-sized hole in the Orioles’ catching mix over the last month.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #24
Zach Eflin (back) will be activated from the injured list to start on Wednesday against the Guardians.
Eflin wrapped up a minor league rehab assignment over the weekend and will take the ball for his first start since June 28. The 31-year-old righty has struggled to a lackluster 5.95 ERA across 62 innings (12 starts) this season, but still figures to be one of the bigger arms on the move by the end of the month. He’s in line to make at least two starts before the trade deadline as he auditions for contenders.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #27
Edward Cabrera (elbow) will not have any restrictions on Tuesday against the Padres.
It’s an encouraging development for fantasy managers that Cabrera won’t be on a strict pitch count when he takes the ball for the first time since undergoing an MRI last week that didn’t reveal any structural damage in his elbow. The 27-year-old righty has pitched like an upper-echelon fantasy starter of late, so it’s a relief that he managed to avoid a trip to the injured list.
  • ATL 3rd Baseman #27
Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters Austin Riley (abdomen) was not activated on Tuesday due to renewed discomfort.
Snitker elaborated that Riley isn’t dealing with a setback, but the club decided to give him a couple additional days out of an abundance of caution. He added that the 28-year-old third baseman will likely be activated for Friday’s series opener against the Rangers.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #17
Nathan Eovaldi (back) told reporters he’s feeling good physically and should be able to start without any limitations on Wednesday against the Athletics.
Barring a last-minute development, which can’t be ruled out when it comes to back issues, Eovaldi should take the ball for Wednesday’s series finale at Globe Life Field. The 35-year-old veteran was scratched from Sunday’s outing against the Tigers with back tightness, but it doesn’t appear to be a concern moving forward.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #32
Padres recalled RHP Stephen Kolek from Triple-A El Paso.
Kolek draws the starting assignment for Tuesday’s showdown against the Marlins at pitcher-friendly loanDepot park. It’s a decent matchup for the 28-year-old righty, but he’s not a recommended streaming option for fantasy managers outside of deeper NL-only formats. He’s posted a pedestrian 4.24 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 49/22 K/BB ratio across 68 innings (12 starts) this season for the Padres.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #68
Padres recalled LHP Kyle Hart from Triple-A El Paso.
Hart provides the Padres with some additional long relief depth behind starter Stephen Kolek for Tuesday’s contest against the Marlins. The 32-year-old lefty has struggled to an inflated 5.83 ERA across 29 1/3 innings (seven appearances, six starts) this season in his stateside return. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.
