Aaron Judge homered, doubled and walked twice in the Game 5 loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit back-to-back homers off Jack Flaherty in the first, and Judge went on to reach base three more times and make a terrific jumping catch in center. Unfortunately, though, his drop on a routine fly in the fifth will probably be remembered as much as his offense tonight, as it opened the door for what turned into a five-run inning for the Dodgers. Judge finished 4-for-18 with four walks in the World Series.

Jacob Misiorowski was pulled from his MLB debut on Thursday evening against the Cardinals due to an apparent ankle injury.
The 23-year-old right-hander had been extremely impressive — hurling five innings of scoreless no-hit baseball — prior to exiting after twisting his right ankle after throwing a 2-0 pitch to Victor Scott II to start the sixth inning. He walked three batters while striking out five in the outstanding performance. He’ll head for further evaluation, though hopefully it’s nothing too serious.
Bednar one of most dominant relievers in baseball
James Schiano discusses the emergence of David Bednar, explaining how he put a disastrous 2024 season behind him to rebound this year, which could lead to him being traded to a postseason contender prior to the deadline.
  • DET Center Fielder #22
Parker Meadows blasted a three-run homer on Thursday night, propelling the Tigers to a 4-1 victory over the Orioles in Baltimore.
Meadows capped off a four-run uprising in the fourth inning with a 392-foot (105.5 mph EV) three-run shot off of Orioles’ right-hander Dean Kremer. The 25-year-old outfielder struck out in each of his other two at-bats, finishing the night 1-for-4. He’s off to a slow start at the dish since returning from the injured list, slashing .171/.275/.343 with one homer, three RBI and a pair of stolen bases in his first 40 plate appearances.
  • DET Catcher #13
Dillon Dingler went 1-for-4 and swatted his seventh home run of the season on Thursday night, helping to power the Tigers to victory over the Orioles in Baltimore.
Dingler broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning as he ambushed a first-pitch cutter from Dean Kremer and crushed a 372-foot (103.7 mph EV) solo shot. That would be his only hit in four plate appearances on the night. The 26-year-old backstop has done a very nice job at the dish this season, slashing .283/.313/.455 with the aforementioned seven long balls and 29 RBI.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #19
Will Vest delivered a dominant performance in the ninth inning on Thursday, retiring all three hitters that he faced to preserve a three-run lead against the Orioles.
Vest notched his 12th save of the season for his efforts. He got Ramon Laureano on on a ground ball to shortstop and then Ryan O’Hearn and Jackson Holliday each on swinging third strikes. Vest has been a rock at the end of the Tigers’ bullpen this season, compiling a minuscule 1.85 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 35/9 K/BB ratio over 34 1/3 innings while recording 12 saves and five wins.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
Tarik Skubal notched his seventh victory of the season on Thursday, firing seven innings of shutout baseball against the Orioles.
The 28-year-old southpaw allowed just three hits on the night and uncharacteristically issued a pair of walks while striking out six. Each of the three hits that he allowed were singles. The only real threat came with two outs in the second inning as Coby Mayo walked and Dylan Carlson followed with an infield single to put runners on the corners, but Skubal battled back to strike out Colton Cowser to silence the threat. Skubal got 14 whiffs on 98 pitches on the night, posting a solid CSW of 29 percent. Now 6-1 on the season, he’ll bring a magnificent 1.99 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and a ridiculous 111/9 K/BB ratio (90 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Pirates.
  • BAL Right Fielder #15
Dylan Carlson went 3-for-3 and blasted a solo home run on Thursday, accounting for all of the Orioles’ offense in a loss to the Tigers.
Carlson finally got the Orioles on the board with a leadoff 408-foot (103.8 mph EV) solo shot off of Tommy Kahnle in the eighth inning. He also singled twice off of Tarik Skubal in the ballgame, tallying three of the O’s four total hits in the contest. On the season, he’s now hitting a respectable .247/.300/.452 with four long balls and 12 RBI in his first 80 plate appearances.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #64
Dean Kremer pitched decently in a losing effort against the Tigers on Thursday night, allowing four runs on five hits over his seven innings of work.
The right-hander racked up eight strikeouts in the ballgame while issuing a pair of free passes. All of the damage done against him came via the long ball in the fourth inning, with Dillon Dingler swatting a solo homer and Parker Meadows crushing a three-run shot. Kremer got 16 swings and misses on 103 pitches on the evening — 15 of those on his splitter — while registering a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll carry a disappointing 5.01 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and a 61/21 K/BB ratio (79 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s start against the Rays in Tampa Bay.
  • LAA 2nd Baseman #87
According to Taylor Blake Ward of Baseball America, the Angels plan to promote top prospect Christian Moore from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Moore, the eighth overall selection from the 2024 draft class, has hit .279/.374/.422 with five homers, 32 RBI, eight stolen bases (in 12 attempts) and a 65/31 K/BB ratio over 238 plate appearances between Double-A Rocket City and Triple-A Salt Lake this season. He has been playing second base exclusively in the minor leagues, so perhaps it’s time the Halos pull the plug on the Scott Kingery experiment there.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Royals’ manager Matt Quatraro told reporters on Thursday that Cole Ragans (shoulder) is getting a second opinion.
The Royals’ skipper noted that they’ll have a better idea on his status and how long he’ll be shut down for after he gets that second opinion, though he noted that Ragans will be out “a while”. It sounds like fantasy managers should unfortunately be bracing for an extended absence here.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #49
Cubs sent RHP Tyson Miller outright to Triple-A Iowa.
The 29-year-old hurler was activated from the 60-day injured list and designated for assignment last week, but he passed through waivers without being claimed and will continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the Cubs.
