Vientos took Ryan Brasier deep in the fourth inning to make it a 6-3 game. It was the fifth homer of the postseason, but unfortunately for the Mets the last with Los Angeles winning the series 4-2. Vientos had a very strong regular season, but was at a different level this October with a slash of .327/.362/.636. Vientos should be a strong fantasy option for 2025 and beyond.

Daniel, 27, is booted off the 40-man roster to make room for Chuckie Robinson after the White Sox traded Robinson to Los Angeles in the corresponding transaction. Daniel could see interest on waivers as a right-hander who showed flashes of competence back in 2023.

Robinson played in 26 games for the White Sox in 2024 and he hit just .129 with an OPS of 326 over 70 at-bats. He’s viewed as a strong defensive backstop, however, and will give the Angels some organizational depth behind Logan O’Hoppe and the occasional catching appearance from Travis d’Arnaud.

It seems pretty obvious, but it’s nice to hear some confirmation. Williams was acquired by the Yankees in the deal for Nestor Cortes earlier in December, and the 30-year-old has been as good as any closer in baseball when healthy. Luke Weaver looked solid in his job as the stopper, but he’ll be a bridge to Williams that the Yankees can use in high-leverage situation. If he was to get hurt, Weaver would seem to be the next player up.

Reyes has not pitched since 2021 as he has undergone multiple shoulder surgeries with the most recent occurring in 2023. The 30-year-old was once considered the best pitching prospect in baseball and has had success, but to say that he’s an unknown at this stage is quite the understatement.

Wilson, 26, elected free agency after being outrighted off the Milwaukee roster at the end of the 2024 campaign. The right-hander will be given a chance to be a starter by the White Sox, but won’t offer a ton of fantasy upside to begin 2025 even if he does earn a rotation nod.

This is not the Logan Allen who has started games for the Guardians the last two years, though this Logan Allen did pitch for the Guardians from 2019-22. He heads to Korea with a 5-11 record and a 5.79 ERA in 124 1/3 innings over five major league seasons.

Williams, 28, had spent his entire career in the Twins’ system and hit .222/.335/.468 with 48 homers over 885 plate appearances in Triple-A the last 2 1/2 seasons. He isn’t strong enough with the glove to be a No. 2 catcher in the majors or with the bat to earn more of a hybrid role, but he is a fine Triple-A player.

Lipcius, 26, got off to a great start with the Dodgers’ Triple-A club last season and made a case for a callup when Max Muncy was sidelined, but he cooled off and never did get a chance with the major league team. Overall, he hit .271/.351/.458 with 25 homers in 140 games. His lone major league experience came with the Tigers in 2023, when he hit .286/.342/.400 in 38 plate appearances. There isn’t a lot of upside here, but he probably would have been one of the White Sox’s best players had he been with the club last year. If younger players fail to emerge, he might get a chance to step in somewhere; he has experience at third, second, first and in left field.

Clarke heads back to Kansas City where he spent two seasons from 2022-2023 after spending last year in the Brewers’ organization. He missed most of last season recovering from right knee surgery and didn’t end up making an appearance for Milwaukee. The 31-year-old righty holds a pedestrian 5.03 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 260/97 K/BB ratio across 279 1/3 innings (183 appearances) in the majors since 2019. He’s merely extra organizational relief depth at this juncture of his career.

Thaiss is on the move again in a crosstown Chicago swap just a few weeks after being shipped to the Cubs from the Angels where he batted .208/.313/.342 with 22 homers and six steals in 771 plate appearances dating back to 2019. The 29-year-old former first-round pick never quite panned out in Los Angeles and projects as merely extra catching depth for the White Sox behind starter Korey Lee until top prospects Edgar Quero and Kyle Teel are ready to ascend to the big leagues.
