Brewers optioned RHP Kevin Herget to Triple-A Nashville.
With Nick Mears coming off the IL, the Brewers needed a space on the active roster and decided to send down Herget. The 33-year-old has a 1.59 ERA and 9:3 K:BB ratio in 11 1/3 innings with the Brewers this season.
  • LAA Shortstop #84

Angels selected the contract of INF Matthew Lugo and LHP Jack Dashwood.
Lugo came over from the Red Sox back at the trade deadline as part of the Luis García trade and has been officially added to Los Angeles’ 40-man roster to shield him from next month’s Rule 5 Draft. The 23-year-old, who is the Angels’ 12th-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, offers multi-position versatility and posted double-digit homers and steals last year in the upper minors.
  • LAA Center Fielder #39
Angels designated OF Jordyn Adams for assignment.
Adams was a notable prospect for Los Angeles just a couple years ago after being selected in the first round of the 20218 MLB Draft, but has struggled to a disastrous .421 OPS in 28 contests at the highest level over the past two years. The 25-year-old hasn’t exactly set the upper minors ablaze either, so there’s a decent shot he makes it through waivers unclaimed.
  • LAA First Baseman #34
Angels designated INF Eric Wagaman for assignment.
Wagaman got into 18 contests last year for the Angels, hitting two homers and racking up 10 RBI in the process. The 27-year-old infielder blasted 17 round-trippers between Double-A Rocket City and Triple-A Salt Lake prior to arriving in the big leagues. He’ll remain with Los Angeles if he winds up passing through waivers unclaimed.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher
Orioles selected the contracts of RHP Brandon Young and Kade Strowd from Triple-A Norfolk.
Young is Baltimore’s 19th ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and will be guarded from being picked up in next month’s Rule 5 Draft. The 26-year-old righty posted a 28.5 percent strikeout rate across 111 innings last season between Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk.
  • NYM Center Fielder #22
Mets acquired OF Jose Siri from the Rays for RHP Eric Orze.
The deal is now official. Siri has reached double-digit homers and steals — finishing with 43 homers and 26 steals over that timeframe — but has also recorded a calamitous .203 batting average across 812 plate appearances during that span, which certainly puts a damper on his fantasy appeal. It’s a nice landing spot from a park factors standpoint, but the 29-year-old outfielder is unlikely to correct the contact issues that have plagued him in recent years. However, he’s still a decent power/speed combo contributor for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #53
Rays acquired RHP Eric Orze from the Mets for OF Jose Siri.
Orze will bolster Tampa Bay’s organizational relief depth heading into next season after making a pair of relief appearances last year for the Mets. The 27-year-old righty feels like a classic Rays move as he’s compiled astronomical strikeout totals in the upper minors and appears ready to contribute right away in a middle relief role.
  • BOS Outfielder
Red Sox selected the contracts of OF Jhostynxon Garcia and RHP Hunter Dobbins from Triple-A Worcester.
“The Password” has been officially added to Boston’s 40-man roster to shield him from selection in next month’s Rule 5 Draft after batting .286/.356/.536 with 23 round-trippers and 17 steals across three minor-league levels. The 21-year-old outfielder wrapped up last season at Double-A Portland and figures to head back there to open the 2025 season. Dobbins provides the Red Sox with some extra starting pitching depth heading into the future after posting a solid 3.08 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 120/48 K/BB ratio across 125 2/3 innings (25 starts) last season between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher
Rangers selected the contract of RHP Emiliano Teodo from Double-A Frisco.
Teodo is now officially protected from selection in next month’s Rule 5 Draft, where he certainly would’ve been gobbled up by another club. He was a revelation last season at Double-A Frisco, compiling a microscopic 1.98 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 110/50 K/BB ratio across 86 1/3 innings (20 appearances, 19 starts). The hard-throwing 23-year-old righty, who started the All-Star Futures Game back in July, projects as a potential impact high-leverage reliever for fantasy purposes at the highest level. He’s a name to watch, especially in dynasty leagues, if he makes the transition to a full-time relief role.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher
Reds selected the contracts of RHP Luis Mey and INF/OF Tyler Callihan from Triple-A Louisville.
Neither Mey or Callihan are Top 30 prospects in Cincinnati’s system, according to MLB Pipeline, but they’ve earned spots on the club’s 40-man roster to protect them from next month’s Rule 5 Draft. Of that pair, Mey is the most intriguing from a fantasy standpoint as he recently was lighting up Statcast radar in the Arizona Fall League with a triple-digit fastball as one of the better relievers on the circuit. The 23-year-old righty will most likely open next season back at Double-A Chattanooga.
  • TB Center Fielder #22
MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo reports the Mets are acquiring outfielder Jose Siri from the Rays for reliever Eric Orze.
It’s not exactly a blockbuster — and he certainly won’t be confused with Juan Soto — but Siri provides New York with a capable defensive centerfielder and some viable outfield depth heading into the offseason. He’s a logical replacement for free agent Harrison Bader and has contributed 43 homers and 26 steals over the last two seasons combined with the Rays. It’s highly unlikely he’ll correct the contact issues that have dragged down his batting average during that span, but he’s likely to remain a cheap power/speed combo source for fantasy managers.
