Red Sox President of Baseball Operations Craig Breslow suggested that the Red Sox would add talent this offseason by trading away left-handed-hitter outfielders and middle infielders.
After the Red Sox were eliminated from playoff contention on Wednesday, Breslow was asked about offseason plans. He commented that many of the team’s top prospects, who are set to debut in 2025, are left-handed hitters so the team will likely try to deal from a surplus of lefties in anticipation of the arrival of players like Roman Anthony, Kyle Teel, and Marcelo Mayer. That means we should expect plenty of rumors in the offseason surrounding guys like Jarren Duran, Masataka Yoshida, Wilyer Abreu, Emmanuel Valdez, and David Hamilton as the Red Sox look to add pitching and right-handed hitters.
