TJ Friedl went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Twins on Saturday.
Friedl’s home run was his 13th of the season. He hit a two-run shot off Louie Varland in the fourth inning. Friedl has seven hits, two home runs and five RBI in his last two games. He’s hitting .233 with a .718 OPS and 53 RBI on the year.

JT Brubaker left Friday’s Grapefruit League game against the Rays after being hit by a comebacker in his lower back.
The Yankees will assuredly have Brubaker undergo testing to see if there’s any structural damage. For now the right-hander would be considered day-to-day if this was regular season action. Brubaker is trying to win one of the final spots in the New York pitching staff with a good showing this spring.
  • BOS Outfielder
Jhosthynxon Garcia singled in two runs as the Red Sox defeated Northeastern University 5-2 in seven innings Friday.
The Red Sox were down 2-0 through three innings before rallying in their annual spring-opening contest. Garcia was the second most pleasant surprise in the Boston farm system last season, busting out with a .286/.356/.536 line to get added to the 40-man roster in November. He’s probably not going to be a factor in the majors this year, but he offers some long-term upside.
  • ARI Catcher #25
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters that Adrian Del Castillo is currently dealing with arm fatigue.
Del Castillo has already undergoing testing, and the good news is that imaging has come back clean. The D-Backs still aren’t going to take any risks, so the 25-year-old will be limited to DH duties to begin the spring season. Del Castillo is likely going to open the year in Triple-A, but his strong showing with Arizona makes him a name to keep an eye on for 2025 and beyond.
  • COL Third Baseman #30
Rockies sent INF Aaron Schunk outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Schunk will stay in the Colorado organization after going unclaimed on the waiver wire. The 27-year-old will need to be added back to the 40-man roster if they deem him worthy of an MLB promotion.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #65
Ari Alexander of KRPC reports that Andrew Vasquez has agreed to terms with Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos of the Mexican League.
The deal comes with a $0 buyout for a potential MLB team. The 31-year-old spent 2024 with the Tigers in Triple-A Toledo, and he’s made 64 MLB appearances. A good showing in Mexico could see teams showing interest in Vasquez as a depth piece by the end of 2025.
  • PHI Outfielder
Weston Wilson is being evaluated for a potential oblique injury.
Wilson felt a “grab” on his oblique while taking swings Friday. The severity of the injury is being determined currently. Wilson will likely see playing time against left-handers if healthy, but there isn’t much fantasy relevance in that type of profile even without considering a potential injury to begin 2025.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #53
Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) faced live hitters again Friday.
This comes a week after the 32-year-old faced live hitters last Friday. Woodruff seems unlikely to open the season in the Brewers’ rotation, but the right-hander does appear to be making strong progress after missing all of the 2024 campaign. When healthy, he’s been among the very best options from a fantasy perspective.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #59
Evan Phillips (shoulder) is throwing a bullpen session Friday.
That will be his first bullpen session of the spring season for Phillips. The right-hander recently told reporters that Opening Day is “off the table,” but he doesn’t believe he’s far behind. There won’t be much fantasy upside for Phillips unless he’s closing, and the chances of him being a part of that mix seem like a long shot at this point.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #50
Kutter Crawford (knee) threw a bullpen session Friday.
Crawford, 28, is battling soreness in his knee while dealing with tendinitis. The right-hander also recently suffered a setback, but it is good news he was able to throw off a mound relatively early in the spring setting. If Crawford is healthy he has the stuff/command to be fantasy relevant, but a trip to the injured list to begin 2025 is obviously possible.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #28
Bobby Miller did not sustain any fractures after being hit in the head by a comebacker during Thursday’s Cactus League game against the Cubs.
Miller is in the concussion protocol, and is dealing with a headache Friday. The good news is that he appears to have avoided anything significant in terms of a long-term injury, and assuming a ‘normal’ rehabilitation, Miller should be back on the mound relatively soon.
