Schneider got the start against a right-hander on Saturday and rewarded the Blue Jays at the plate, going yard for a solo homer off Kyle Gibson in the third inning. He knocked a base hit in the sixth to drive in another run and collected his third hit of the game in the eighth with a single. The 25-year-old is hitting .197/.287/.346 with 11 homers, 43 runs scored, 42 RBI, and six steals across 414 plate appearances.

Young was seen experiencing discomfort after he was caught stealing to end the top of the second inning. It’s unclear what the injury was exactly, but he was removed from the game. Joey Gallo came in to play right field with Dylan Crews taking Young’s spot in center.

He probably sealed up NL MVP honors with this, particularly in light of Francisco Lindor’s absence this week. He’s the 15th player ever with five extra-base hits in a game. The only other player ever to go 6-for-6 with five extra-base hits in a game was, incredibly enough, Shawn Green, doing so in his four-homer game in 2002. The 10-RBI game is the first in Dodgers history. It’s Ohtani’s first career three-homer game. His previous high for RBI was eight in an Angels loss in 2022.

Flaherty gave up homers to Jake Burger and Griffin Conine, but he could afford to in what ended up being a 20-4 game. He’s 6-2 with a 3.40 ERA in nine starts since joining the Dodgers. He’s set to face the Padres in his final regular-season start next week.

Cabrera went without allowing an earned run over 13 innings in his previous two starts, but there’s just never any telling how he might look on any given day. Only 37 of his 73 pitches were strikes today, and he dropped to 4-8 with a 5.12 ERA on the season. He’ll finish up next week against the Twins.

After being held out of the lineup six games in a row, Pages got a start last night after Miguel Rojas was scratched and went 1-for-3. Back in there today, he matched his season high with three RBI. He’s hit .286 with two homers in 28 plate appearances since being recalled Sept. 1. If he finishes hot, he might find himself in position to get some starts in center during the postseason.

Gilbert got the win, his first Aug. 10. It’s just the third time this season that he’s allowed at least one run and won, as he moved to 8-11 with a 3.24 ERA. Gilbert will make his next start Tuesday against the Astros. It’ll probably be his last of the year, but he’ll be available in the season finale if needed.

Muñoz fanned Austin Wells, Oswaldo Cabrera and Gleyber Torres to protect a one-run lead. It’s his fifth straight scoreless appearance. Since he also threw 24 pitches on Wednesday, he’ll almost certainly get Friday off now, potentially resulting in a save chance for Collin Snider or Trent Thornton.

Jasson Domínguez dropped a routine fly with the bases loaded in the first, leading to the two unearned runs. Schmidt went on to match his season high with seven strikeouts, and he has a 1.76 ERA in three starts since coming off the injured list. He’s due to make his final regular-season start next Wednesday against the Orioles.

Moore wasn’t supposed to play against a righty today, but he was the choice to join the lineup when Victor Robles was scratched. His 30th steal added to his career high in that category. He’s never been good enough against righties to serve as a quality regular, but he’s held his own against them season. Overall, he’s hitting .206/.319/.378 in a career-high 415 plate appearances.
