In his first game action since Tommy John surgery, Tony Gonsolin pitched two scoreless innings and struck out three for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
Gonsolin averaged 93.0 mph with his 17 fastballs, putting him right in between the 92.5 mph he was at before getting hurt last year and the 93.2 mph he averaged while winning 16 games in 2022. That he’s gotten his arm back in shape so quickly has left the door slightly ajar for a return to the Dodgers this month. That wasn’t supposed to be the plan, as he didn’t have surgery until Sept. 1 last year.
