Landen Roupp lost his first major league start after allowing two runs in five innings Tuesday against the Brewers.
Roupp, who entered with a 3.41 ERA in 19 relief appearances, did his part in nearly matching Aaron Civale, but he still took a defeat in a 3-2 game. Primarily a low-leverage reliever previously, the decision was his first as a major leaguer. It’s unclear if he’ll make another start, and it could come down to whether the Giants opt to bring Robbie Ray back from the IL next week without having him make a rehab start.
