Yankees recalled OF Jasson Domínguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
He’s playing center and batting sixth tonight. Instead of cutting Alex Verdugo or Trent Grisham, the Yankees stuck DJ LeMahieu on the IL to make room for Domínguez, leaving them with a crowded outfield. Still, we assume Domínguez will play most of the time and hopefully leave Verdugo in the dust if he can get off to a quick start. The 21-year-old was hitting .309/.368/.480 in 44 Triple-A games since returning from Tommy John (there was also an interruption caused by an oblique strain). He’s worth rostering in mixed leagues. Anyone holding on to Verdugo outside of deep AL-only formats needs to move on.

Jake Meyers was removed from Sunday afternoon’s battle against the Dodgers due to a calf injury.
Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters after the game that the 29-year-old outfielder’s calf tightened up on him during the game and that he was removed out of an abundance of caution. It doesn’t sound like anything that should lead to an extended absence, but fantasy managers should be sure to check his status on Monday before setting lineups for the week.
Hold Muncy if placed on injured list
Eric Samulski advises fantasy managers to "hold" Max Muncy if placed on the injured list, who has produced in a big way since the beginning of May, and discusses the outlook for Dodgers' call-up Esteury Ruiz.
  • DET Center Fielder #95
The Tigers promoted top prospects Max Clark, Kevin McGonigle and Josue Briceño from High-A West Michigan to Double-A Erie on Sunday.
Clark, the third overall selection from the 2023 draft class, was hitting .285/.430/.427 with seven homers, 47 RBI and 12 stolen bases in his first 68 games at West Michigan. McGonigle was even better there — slashing a blistering .358/.450/.617 with seven homers, 39 RBI and three stolen bases in just 42 contests. Briceño was no slouch himself, slashing .296/.422/.602 with 15 long balls and 57 RBI. The Tigers own the best record in the American League at the moment and their future continues to look exceedingly bright.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #44
Rays signed RHP Peter Strzelecki to a minor league contract.
The 30-year-old hurler was officially released by the Pirates on Sunday and it didn’t take him long to find another opportunity. The Rays will undoubtedly make minor changes to his arsenal and he’ll turn into a key cog in their big league bullpen before the season is through.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #24
Michael Lorenzen pitched two-hit ball for seven innings and struck out seven in the Royals’ 4-0 shutout of the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Lorenzen has one of these outings every two months or so, just to make sure that people don’t forget about him. He came into this one with a 6.88 ERA in his previous seven starts, taking his overall ERA from 3.77 to 4.95. Still, he’ll probably be in some demand later this month if the Royals opt to sell. He’s set to face the Mets next weekend.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #21
Anthony DeSclafani surrendered four runs in four-plus innings Sunday in a loss to the Royals.
DeSclafani struck out six and walked none. He actually faced the minimum through three before giving up solo homers to Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez in the fourth. He then hit a batter and gave up a single at the beginning of the fifth, and his day was over after that. Both runners came around to score against Jalen Beeks afterwards. This was just a spot start for DeSclafani, so he’ll return to the pen for now. However, he is probably next in line for the D-backs rotation if something opens up.
  • KC 1st Baseman #14
Jac Caglianone struck out twice, popped up and was hit by a pitch Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
Caglianone stole his first base as a major leaguer and scored a run today, but it was another poor showing offensively. He’s 3-for-48 with a double, no runs batted in and two walks in his last 13 games, leaving him at .148/.200/.241 overall through 115 plate appearances. If he doesn’t pick it up in the final two series before the break, the Royals might decide that some additional Triple-A seasoning is needed.
  • ARI Center Fielder #7
Corbin Carroll struck out all four times up against the Royals on Sunday.
Carroll, who had never before had a four-strikeout game, wasn’t the only Diamondback to struggle today, but he was the only one to fan more than once; the rest of the team combined for five strikeouts against Michael Lorenzen and company in the contest. That Carroll rushed back so quickly from the chip fracture in his wrist might have been a mistake, as he’s gone 0-for-9 the last two days.
  • WSH Manager
Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Nationals have fired manager Dave Martinez and general manager Mike Rizzo.
The Nationals currently sit in the cellar of the National League East with an uninspiring 37-53 record. Assistant general manager Mike DeBartolo is expected to take over as the acting general manager on an interim basis. No word yet on who will replace Martinez in the dugout. Stay tuned.
  • SEA Left Fielder #56
Randy Arozarena slugged a go-ahead solo homer in the sixth inning on Sunday, powering the Mariners to a 1-0 victory over the visiting Pirates.
The Mariners weren’t able to get anything going against Pirates’ ace Paul Skenes in this one, but Arozarena made them pay as soon as Skenes exited the ballgame. He hammered a 2-0 fastball from Carmen Mlodzinski for a 399-foot (110.2 mph EV) solo shot that proved to be the difference in the ballgame. The 30-year-old outfielder has been sizzling at the plate with six long balls over his past seven games. With his 1-for-3 effort, he’s now hitting .249/.355/.446 with 14 homers, 42 RBI and 15 stolen bases on the season.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #75
Andrés Muñoz slammed the door on the Pirates on Sunday afternoon, preserving a one-run lead to earn his 21st save of the season.
Muñoz made quick work of the Pirates in this one, getting Nick Gonzales on strikes, Oneil Cruz on a fly ball to right field and Tommy Pham on a ground ball to short to end it. The 26-year-old right-hander now boasts a 1.06 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and a 45/13 K/BB ratio over 33 2/3 innings on the season while securing 21 of his first 25 save chances.
