  • BAL Shortstop #2

Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the Rays on Sunday.
Henderson was the only one doing much of anything for the Orioles. He now has a .282/.367/.540 slash line and is up to 18 steals on the season in what has been another tremendous year.
  • SF 3rd Baseman #26

Matt Chapman (hand) is scheduled to resume hitting on Wednesday.
It’s a positive development that Chapman is ready to resume taking on-field batting practice already after landing back on the injured list over the weekend with right hand inflammation. The 32-year-old third baseman might be able to skip a rehab assignment altogether and return to San Francisco’s lineup early next week.
Wheeler placed on IL with blood clot in shoulder
With Zack Wheeler headed to the IL because of a blood clot in his shoulder, James Schiano expects an extended absence while Philadelphia loses a vital part of its rotation.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman #11
Jordan Westburg was removed from Monday’s series opener against the Red Sox with right ankle discomfort.
Westburg can’t seem to catch a break. The timing is extremely unfortunate as it comes on the heels of a four-hit, five-RBI performance during Sunday’s slugfest against the Astros. The 26-year-old infielder stumbled while rounding second base in the opening frame and was immediately lifted from the contest after a consultation with team trainers. He’ll head for further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the injury. There should be an update on his status following the game.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #50
Monday’s doubleheader nightcap between the Brewers and Cubs has been postponed due to inclement weather.
Let’s try this again. It’ll be made up on Tuesday as a split doubleheader at Wrigley Field. Jameson Taillon is coming off the injured list to take the ball at some point in the twin bill with Matthew Boyd handling the other contest. It’ll be Chad Patrick and Brandon Woodruff drawing the starting assignments for the sizzling-hot Brewers.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Cole Ragans (shoulder) threw a 35-pitch bullpen session on Monday.
Ragans is making gradual progress in his recovery from a rotator cuff strain that put him on the shelf back on June 11. The 27-year-old fantasy ace has begun to incorporate breaking balls into his throwing sessions and ramp up his velocity. He’ll likely progress to facing hitters at some point before the end of August with the goal of making it back to Kansas City in September.
  • CIN Catcher #37
Tyler Stephenson (thumb) remains out of the lineup for the third consecutive game on Monday against the Angels.
Stephenson remains on Cincinnati’s bench as he continues to battle left thumb soreness that has kept him out since last Friday. He suffered the injury a couple weeks ago and has been playing through it. It’ll be Jose Trevino handling the catching duties on Monday night in his absence.
  • LAD Catcher #16
Will Smith is not in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Rockies.
Smith takes a seat after making four consecutive starts behind the dish, including a day game after a night contest, for the first time in a couple months. It’ll be top prospect Dalton Rushing handling the catching duties on Monday night at Coors Field.
  • TEX Center Fielder #19
Rangers recalled OF Alejandro Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock.
Osuna returns to the big leagues with Jake Burger heading to the injured list with a wrist sprain. The 22-year-old rookie will occupy a spot on Texas’ bench and is unlikely to garner enough playing time to make a fantasy impact.
  • TEX 1st Baseman #21
Rangers placed 1B Jake Burger on the 10-day injured list with a left wrist sprain.
Rangers president Chris Young told reporters Burger underwent an MRI that revealed a sprain after his early exit from Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays. The 29-year-old slugger heads back to the injured list for the third time this season as he’s been unable to shake the injury bug.
  • KC Left Fielder #21
Royals designated OF Mark Canha for assignment.
There’s no longer a spot for Canha on Kansas City’s roster after missing nearly six weeks recovering from left elbow epicondylitis. The 36-year-old veteran batted .212/.272/.265 with one homer and six RBI over 46 games in a part-tome role this season with the Royals.
  • SD Center Fielder #3
Jackson Merrill (ankle) is not in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Giants.
Merrill will get some extra time off to rest and recover after tweaking his left ankle during Sunday’s series finale against the Dodgers. It doesn’t sound like a massive concern, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see him sit out a couple games this week. It’ll be speedster Bryce Johnson making his first start since July 31 on Monday night in his absence.
