Tyler Anderson allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings and got a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday.
Anderson gave up one hit, walked two and struck out seven. Wyatt Langford reached on an error to start the fifth inning before Anderson walked Nathaniel Lowe. Both runners came around to score on Ezequiel Duran’s double, which was the only hit Anderson allowed. The win was his 11th of the year. Anderson has a 3.50 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 132 strikeouts in 167 1/3 innings this year. The 34-year-old left-hander is set to face the Astros at home next week.

Quinn Priester has been scratched from Wednesday’s start against the Diamondbacks due to a wrist injury.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters Priester will not require a trip to the injured list but will need a few extra days off. The 24-year-old rookie is on track to take the ball on Saturday against the Blue Jays. It’ll be Aaron Ashby and newly signed veteran Erick Fedde making a bulk relief appearance on Wednesday night in his place.
Crochet, Skubal neck and neck for AL Cy Young
Vaughn Dalzell examines the AL Cy Young race and who has the advantage between Boston's Garrett Crochet and Detroit's Tarik Skubal.
  • CWS Shortstop #12
Colson Montgomery is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s series finale against the Royals due to left side soreness.
Montgomery, who has been playing through some lingering discomfort since last week, has gone deep in four consecutive contests and is up to 14 round-trippers through 43 games in his rookie campaign. He’ll grab a seat on the bench for Wednesday evening’s matchup with Chase Meidroth at shortstop and Lenyn Sosa at second base to face Kansas City right-hander Ryan Bergert. He’s still striking out too much, and doesn’t offer any stolen base upside, but he’s been a strong power source for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. He’s presumably day-to-day heading into Thursday’s series opener against the Yankees since precautionary imaging didn’t reveal any structural damage.
  • BAL Right Fielder #82
Jeremiah Jackson is at third base and batting second on Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Jackson has been an unexpected late-season revelation for Baltimore, batting .324 (23-for-71) with one homer and nine RBI in 21 games since ascending to the big leagues back on August 1. The unheralded 25-year-old has batted second in seven consecutive contests and is worthy of consideration for a fantasy roster spot in deeper mixed leagues.
  • TOR Catcher #30
Alejandro Kirk is day-to-day after X-rays came back negative on his right hand.
Kirk is on the bench for Wednesday’s series finale against the Twins after his right hand swelled up after being struck by a foul tip during Tuesday’s contest. The encouraging news here is that he didn’t suffer any fractures, but he’s probably going to need a few days off for the inflammation to subside.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #29
Trevor Megill has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain in his right elbow.
Megill told reporters that it’s a relatively mild strain and he’s hoping for a minimum stint on the injured list, which would put him back in Milwaukee sometime around mid-September. He added that he felt the issue after throwing 34 pitches in his last relief appearance on Sunday in a blown save against the Giants. The logical pickup here for fantasy purposes is hard-throwing Abner Uribe, who picked up a save during Tuesday’s series opener against the Diamondbacks.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #43
Mets optioned RHP Huascar Brazobán to Triple-A Syracuse.
Brazoban underwent an MRI on Wednesday that didn’t reveal any structural damage in his oblique area, so the Mets have officially shipped him back to the minors to bring in a fresh arm.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
White Sox general manager Chris Getz told reporters Luis Robert Jr. has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and could miss the rest of the season.
With just over one month left in the season, there simply isn’t a ton of time for Robert to rest and recover from a pretty significant hamstring strain and still make it back to Chicago. Getz reiterated the front office’s commitment to the 28-year-old outfielder, seeming to confirm that they’re picking up his $20 million club option for 2026.
  • ATL 2nd Baseman #1
Ozzie Albies had a three-run homer and a two-run single as the Braves trounced the Marlins 12-1 on Wednesday.
Albies took Ryan Gusto deep in the third and then reached five RBI for the seventh time in his career in the fourth. He has three homers in two days, matching his total from his previous 39 games, and his current .651 OPS is his high mark since June 9.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #33
Joey Wentz limited the Marlins to one run and four hits in 6 2/3 innings to win Wednesday.
Wentz struck out five, though he settled for eight whiffs on 43 swings. It’s his third win in five starts this month and he allowed just one run in each of them, but his two losses were bad enough that his ERA has dropped only from 5.02 at the beginning of August to 4.92 now. He should be avoided with his next start coming on the road against the Cubs.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #65
Ryan Gusto was torched for nine runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Braves in Wednesday’s loss.
It was already 3-0 in the third when Gusto hit Ronald Acuña Jr. on his arm guard, touching off a brief benches-clearing incident, and things really unraveled afterwards. Gusto has lost all three of his starts for the Marlins, giving up 17 earned runs in 15 2/3 innings. He’ll probably stay in the rotation for now and face the Nationals next week, but he could be replaced once Ryan Weathers returns next month.
