Eugenio Suárez went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored against the Astros on Saturday.
Suárez knocked a base hit to lead off the second inning and scored on a single by Kevin Newman. He later led off the sixth inning with a solo homer off Yusei Kikuchi, already his third of the month. Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and a stolen base on Thursday evening as the Yankees walloped the White Sox in Chicago.
Chisholm swatted a 382-foot (105.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Davis Martin to open the second inning, increasing the Bombers’ early advantage to 3-0. He then tacked on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning that made it 6-4. The 27-year-old infielder also singled in the ninth inning and swiped second base before ultimately being stranded at third. For the season, he’s now slashing .242/.338/.495 with a career-high 26 homers, 66 RBI and 24 stolen bases over 424 plate appearances.

  • NYY Starting Pitcher #98
Will Warren pitched well in Thursday night’s victory over the White Sox, allowing four runs (zero earned) on five hits over his five innings of work.
Warren struck out three batters on the evening while allowing two free passes. All of the scoring done against him came on a grand slam by Miguel Vargas in the second inning after an error by Anthony Volpe had extended the inning. The 26-year-old hurler generated seven swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries a 4.30 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 149/60 K/BB ratio (136 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Astros in Houston.
  • CWS 3rd Baseman #20
Before exiting Thursday’s loss to the Yankees with a left wrist contusion, Miguel Vargas accounted for all of the White Sox’ offense with a grand slam in the second inning.
Vargas tagged Yankees’ right-hander Will Warren for the game-tying, 401-foot (106.6 mph EV) four-run blast in the second inning. He then exited the game after Aaron Judge ran into his arm while Vargas was attempting to catch a ball at first base in the fifth inning. He’s scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on Friday to determine the severity of the injury.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #65
Davis Martin was knocked around in a no-decision against the Yankees on Thursday night, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits across his 3 2/3 innings.
Martin struck out five batters on the night while issuing three free passes. He served up a two-run homer to Cody Bellinger in the opening inning and a solo shot to Jazz Chisholm Jr. as part of a two-run second inning. The 28-year-old right-hander got 10 swings and misses on 81 pitches on the night — six of those on his fastball — registering a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll attempt to bounce back as he carries a 4.03 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and an 85/38 K/BB ratio (116 innings) into Tuesday’s battle against the Twins in Minneapolis.
  • MIA Catcher #34
Liam Hicks went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI as the Marlins defeated the Mets 7-4 on Thursday evening in New York.
Hicks drove in a run with a fielder’s choice off of Clay Holmes in the third inning that tied the game at 2-2. He then scored on a throwing error by Holmes. The 26-year-old also reached on a fielder’s choice in the seventh inning and scored on an RBI single by Otto Lopez. He has done a nice job in his time with the Marlins this season, slashing .263/.355/.358 with just four homers and 38 RBI In 321 plate appearances.
  • MIA 2nd Baseman #6
Otto Lopez went 2-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs on Thursday evening as the Marlins triumphed over the Mets in New York.
Lopez smacked a run-scoring single off of Clay Holmes in the third inning that extended the Marlins’ early lead to 4-2. He then made it a 6-4 ballgame with an RBI knock off of Gregory Soto in the seventh. With his two-hit attack, the 26-year-old infielder is now slashing .239/.308/.354 with 11 homers, 61 RBI and 12 stolen bases on the season.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #53
Calvin Faucher slammed the door on the Mets on Thursday evening, protecting a three-run lead in the ninth inning to earn his 13th save of the season.
Faucher wasn’t messing around in this one, going right through the heart of the Mets’ lineup. He retired Starling Marte on a fly ball to center, Francisco Lindor on a swinging third strike and Juan Soto on a ground ball to second base to end it, needing just seven pitches (six strikes) to get the job done. He now boasts a 3.35 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 49/21 K/BB ratio over 51 innings on the season while converting 13 of his first 18 save chances.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #60
Adam Mazur did a serviceable job in a spot start for the Marlins on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits over four innings in a no-decision against the Mets.
Mazur struck out two opposing batters on the night while issuing one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came in the opening inning on a two-run double off the bat of Brandon Nimmo. He settled in nicely after that and finished his day with three scoreless frames. Mazur got eight swings and misses on only 60 pitches on the night — four of them on his slider — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. It’s unclear if he’ll stick around to make another start against the Nationals on Tuesday in Washington, though he could be an interesting streaming option in deeper leagues if he does.
  • NYM 1st Baseman #20
Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 and slugged his 30th home run of the season on Thursday night, but it wasn’t enough to power the Mets past the Marlins.
Alonso doubled off of Adam Mazur in the opening inning and scored on a two-run double off the bat of Brandon Nimmo. He then tagged Lake Bachar for a game-tying, 425-foot (111.4 mph EV) two-run shot in the fifth inning. That would be the last of the scoring for the Mets in the ballgame though. Alonso has now eclipsed the 30-homer plateau in six of his first seven seasons — the only exception being the truncated 2020 campaign. With his two-hit night, he’s now slashing .267/.348/.514 with the 30 long balls and 108 RBI.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #35
Clay Holmes pitched decently in a no-decision against the Marlins on Thursday night, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits over his five frames.
Holmes punched out two batters on the night while allowing only one base on balls. The Marlins scratched out a run against him in the opening inning, then piled on with three more in the third — two of which were unearned as a result of a throwing error that Holmes made himself. The 32-year-old hurler got just three whiffs on 88 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll look to get back in the win column as he totes a 3.60 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 111/56 K/BB ratio (142 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Tigers in Detroit.
