Marlins placed RHP Max Meyer on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to September 4, with right shoulder bursitis.
Meyer was scheduled to take the ball on Sunday against the Phillies, but that’s not happening. It’s been a turbulent season for the 25-year-old former top prospect as he’s struggled to a lackluster 5.68 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 46/19 K/BB ratio across 57 innings (11 starts) in the big leagues. Even if it winds up being just a minimum stay on the injured list, it’ll likely limit Meyer to just one or two additional outings before the regular season wraps up.
