Astros general manager Dana Brown said during a pregame radio interview Sunday that Isaac Paredes (hamstring) will receive a second opinion next week.
It’s an ominous update. Brown noted that Paredes’ right hamstring strain — already believed to be significant based on comments from manager Joe Espada earlier this week — is “a little more severe than we had projected.” With just two months remaining in the regular season, there’s a real chance the 26-year-old third baseman doesn’t make it back. It’s a tough blow for both Houston and fantasy managers, as Paredes had been enjoying a strong year at the plate.
