Naylor now has 31 home runs on the year. He hit two solo shots off Bailey Ober with one coming in the second inning and the other in the seventh inning. Naylor had one home run in his last 22 games entering play Wednesday. He’s hitting .245 with a .789 OPS and 105 RBI on the year.

Floro was awful with the Diamondbacks with a 9.37 ERA and 1.65 WHIP after being acquired by Arizona at the deadline. The right-hander is now free to sign with a new team, but may need to wait until 2025 to find a new home.

Ober gave up four hits, walked none and struck out 12. He was excellent. The 12 strikeouts were a season-high, but the Twins scored only two runs while Ober was in the game. Ober is 12-7 with a 3.84 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 180 strikeouts in 168 2/3 innings on the year. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Marlins at home next week.

Bibee gave up five hits, one walk and struck out five. He’s allowed three runs or less in each of his last four starts and has a 3.04 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings in that time. Bibee is 11-8 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 180 strikeouts in 166 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Red at home next week.

Donovan put the Cardinals on the board with a two-run blast off Jake Woodford in the second inning. He added a base hit in the third, then drew a walk in the seventh before scoring on a double by Jordan Walker. The versatile 27-year-old is up to 13 homers, 63 runs scored, and 66 RBI while slashing .271/.338/.408 across 610 plate appearances.

Winn’s only hit came in a big spot. After the Pirates took a one-run lead in the sixth, Winn took David Bedar deep for a game-tying solo homer to lead off the seventh. It was the 14th home run of the season for the 22-year-old shortstop. He’s slashing .271/.318/.411 with 75 runs scored, 51 RBI, and 11 steals across 595 plate appearances.

Cook got the start in center field on Wednesday and slugged his first career homer off Sonny Gray, a three-run blast in the sixth inning to give the Pirates the lead. He added a base hit to lead off the ninth. The 25-year-old outfielder is 5-for-24 in his first big-league action.

Gray had tossed three scoreless innings, stranding two runners in the second and third, before the Pirates put two runs on the board in the fourth on three hits and a sacrifice fly. After a scoreless fifth, he left with two outs and two runners on in the sixth at 90 pitches. Matthew Liberatore would come in a surrender a three-run homer to blow the lead. Gray finished with eight strikeouts. The 34-year-old right-hander will take a 3.84 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 203/39 K/BB ratio across 166 1/3 innings into a start against the Rockies in Colorado on Tuesday.

Woodford surrendered a two-run homer to Brendan Donovan in the second inning. He allowed two more runs in the third on a triple and three base hits. Woodford tossed a scoreless fourth and recorded the first two outs in the fifth before his day was done. The 27-year-old right-hander has posted a 7.97 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, and a 26/9 K/BB ratio across 35 innings. He’s lined up for a start against the Brewers in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Skubal is putting the finishing touches on his Cy Young campaign while miraculously leading the Tigers towards an unlikely playoff berth as one of just two full-time starters in their rotation. He wasn’t his sharpest here, but held Kansas City scoreless after the first inning and forced 18 swings-and-misses as his fastball and changeup were simply too much to handle. This win pushed his total to 17 on the season, tying Chris Sale for the league lead. He’s scheduled to face the Rays’ paltry lineup in his next start.
