Yankees sent LHP Josh Maciejewski outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Maciejewski was designated for assignment to make room for Anthony Rizzo on the Yankees 40-man roster. He allowed two runs and struck out seven batters in seven innings over four appearances with New York this year. Maciejewski will need to be added back to the 40-man roster before he can return to the majors. He’ll serve as minor league depth for the Yankees in the meantime.

Emmanuel Clase earned his 14th save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Astros on Sunday.
It was not without drama. Clase allowed a back-to-back one-out singles to Yainer Diaz and Jake Meyers before getting Cam Smith to fly out and Jake Melton to ground out to end the game. After a rough start to the season, Clase now has a 3.54 ERA and 14 saves on the season.
Fantasy impact of Mets SS Lindor breaking his toe
James Schiano shares the latest news regarding star shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is day-to-day after breaking his toe, also explaining how the injury will affect Luisangel Acuña, Ronny Mauricio and fantasy managers.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #28
Tanner Bibee allowed two runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Astros on Sunday.
It’s deja vu all over again for Bibee. Just like earlier this week against the Yankees, Bibee was cruising into the seventh inning before starting to give up contact. Bibee had thrown six shutout innings, allowed just two hits, and struck out six while keeping his pitch count under 80 total pitches heading into the seventh inning. He then gave up a one-out single to Yainer Diaz before a jam-shot 66 mph single off the bat of Jake Meyers moved Diaz to third base. After Meyer stole second, Cam Smith got the benefit of a friendly two-strike ball call and then laced a double to the wall on the next pitch. Despite not having a win to show for it, these last two outings have been a step in the right direction for Bibee, who will take a 3.81 ERA into a start in Seattle next week.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #60
Brandon Walter allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Guardians on Sunday.
The left-hander struck out five and didn’t walk a single batter, with the only real damage against him being a two-run home run to Bo Naylor. Walter had great command of his 88.5 mph cutter and was able to miss bats on both his changeup and sweeper. His lower arm slot will make him really tough on lefties, but as long as the cutter and changeup are commanded well, he can induce some soft contact against righties too. Walter is currently slated to start against the Twins next week and might be worth a look in deeper formats. However, Justin Verlander’s impending return from the IL means that Walter could be bumped from the rotation, even if he might be a better option than Ryan Gusto.
  • HOU Center Fielder #6
Jake Meyers went 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored in a loss to the Guardians on Sunday.
All of Meyers’ hits were singles, but this is what the 28-year-old does. He makes consistent contact and gets on base, and then steals bases when he does. He’s now hitting .302/.361/.412 on the season with 10 steals and needs to be on more fantasy rosters.
  • CLE Catcher #23
Bo Naylor went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in a win over the Astros on Sunday.
Naylor is now up to eight home runs on the season but has just 18 RBI and a .187/.299/.393 slash line. The power has been nice to see, but he’ll need to connect more consistently if he wants to land on many fantasy radars.
  • DET Center Fielder #31
Riley Greene went 2-for-4 with two RBI against the Cubs on Sunday.
Greene was 0-for-9 with seven strikeouts in his last three games entering play Sunday. The 24-year-old outfielder’s day got off to a rough start as he was called out looking at a Cade Horton changeup well below the strike zone in the first inning. Greene would have his revenge with a two-run single that put the Tigers up 4-0 in the fifth inning. Greene told reporters he’s focused on pitch selection, which will hopefully help him cut down his recent strikeout rate.
  • DET 1st Baseman #20
Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI against the Cubs on Sunday.
Torkelson crushed a two-run double off Cade Horton in the first inning that was mere feet away from being a three-run home run. The 25-year-old first baseman went 3-for-23 (.130) on the Tigers’ recent six-game roadtrip, but bounced back with a 5-for-12 series against the Cubs over the weekend. Torkelson is hitting .237 with an .842 OPS and 45 RBI on the year.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #22
Cade Horton allowed four runs in five innings and took the loss against the Tigers on Sunday.
Horton gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six. The 23-year-old right-hander allowed more than three runs in a start for the first time in his major league career. Horton allowed a two-run double to Spencer Torkelson in the first inning and a two-run single to Riley Greene in the fifth inning. After five starts and one bulk appearance, Horton has a 25/7 K/BB ratio in 30 2/3 innings. His ERA is 4.11 with a 3.92 xFIP. Horton is set to face the Pirates at home next weekend.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #9
Jack Flaherty tossed six shutout innings and got the win in the Tigers’ 4-0 victory over the Cubs on Sunday.
Flaherty gave up two hits, walked three and struck out nine. The 29-year-old right-hander has been on a roll lately. In his last three starts, he’s allowed one run and struck out 21 over 18 innings. Flaherty continues to show that his 2024 season wasn’t a fluke as he’s mostly repeated his production from a year ago. He’ll face the Reds at home next weekend.
  • DET Right Fielder #30
Kerry Carpenter made an early exit from Sunday’s series finale against the Cubs.
Carpenter was lifted for a pinch-runner following a seventh-inning double to cap off a three-hit performance. He finished 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run scored. The 27-year-old slugger has been battling a lingering hamstring issue in recent weeks, so it’s possible the early exit winds up being injury-related. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status heading into Tuesday’s series opener against the Orioles.
