Patrick Corbin struck out eight and allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a win over the Marlins.
Seriously, what year is it? Corbin has reeled off three consecutive quality starts since August 22, notching at least six strikeouts in all three of those outings. The 35-year-old southpaw had little trouble carving up Miami’s rebuilding lineup, managing to avoid serious damage despite allowing seven hits and also handing out three free passes. He generated 15 swinging strikes and finished with a 32 percent CSW. We’re hesitant to endorse him as a viable streaming option, but he’s in line for a decent matchup on Sunday against the Pirates at pitcher-friendly PNC Park. Are you feeling lucky?
