Phillies promoted SS prospect Aidan Miller to Double-A Reading.
Miller after going 5-for-5 with his 11th home run of the season on Sunday in his final contest for High-A Jersey Shore. The 20-year-old top prospect, who was selected 27th overall in last year’s MLB Draft, put together a sizzling-hot August, batting .299 (29-for-97) with 13 extra-base hits — three home runs — and five steals over 25 contests. He’s batted .265/.373/.460 with 11 homers and 22 steals across 97 games this season between High-A Jersey Shore and Low-A Clearwater. There will be some differences of opinion, but Miller is a borderline top 25 prospect for dynasty purposes heading into 2025.

Guardians designated OF George Valera, RHP Peter Strzelecki, and Connor Gillispie for assignment.
The trio have been removed from Cleveland’s 40-man roster to make room for a slew of prospects that the organization needed to protect ahead of next month’s Rule 5 Draft. Valera was a borderline top 50 prospect in the game just a few years ago, but his once-promising career has been derailed by injuries and on-field struggles. The 24-year-old outfielder, who has yet to reach the majors, was limited to just 90 games last year before suffering a ruptured patella tendon in mid-September that will cause him to miss the early portion of next season.
  • SD Starting Pitcher
Padres selected the contract of RHP Henry Baez, RHP Ryan Bergert and LHP Omar Cruz from Triple-A El Paso.
The trio are now shielded from selection in next month’s Rule 5 Draft. Baez is the most notable member of this group as he checks in as MLB Pipeline’s seventh-ranked prospect in San Diego’s system. The 22-year-old righty finished last year with a respectable 2.99 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 109/40 K/BB ratio across 126 1/3 innings (26 starts) between High-A Fort Wayne and Double-A San Antonio.
  • SF Starting Pitcher
Giants selected the contract of RHP Carson Ragsdale and RHP Carson Seymour from Triple-A Sacramento.
Ragsdale came over from the Phillies a couple years ago in exchange for reliever Sam Coonrod and has been added to San Francisco’s 40-man ahead of next month’s Rule 5 Draft. Seymour is the highest-ranked prospect of the pair, checking in at 23rd overall in the Giants’ system, according to MLB Pipeline.
  • SF Relief Pitcher #70
Giants designated RHP Kai-Wei Teng for assignment.
Teng made four relief appearances last year for the Giants and struggled mightily at the Triple-A level with a bloated 8.60 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 61/44 K/BB ratio across 75 1/3 innings (23 appearances, 13 starts). The 25-year-old righty figures to pass through waivers unclaimed.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher
Twins selected the contracts of RHP Marco Raya and RHP Travis Adams from Triple-A St. Paul.
The move is now official. Raya checks in as Minnesota’s fifth-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, after wrapping up last season with a near-25 percent strikeout rate across 25 starts between Double-A Wichita and Triple-A St. Paul.

  • NYY Relief Pitcher #84
Rangers returned RHP Carson Coleman to the Yankees.
Coleman heads back to New York after being selected by the Rangers in last year’s Rule 5 Draft. The 26-year-old righty didn’t end up pitching last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
  • NYY Second Baseman
Yankees selected the contracts of 2B Caleb Durbin and C Jesus Rodriguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
No surprise here after Durbin recently broke the Arizona Fall League’s single-season steals mark following an impressive campaign last year that included 10 homers and 31 steals across three minor-league levels. Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters earlier this month that he expects Durbin to “play a big role” next season, so it’s not out of the question that he’ll carve out a versatile multi-position role with New York in spring training. He’s a prospect fantasy managers should be watching closely in Grapefruit League action.
  • CHC Right Fielder #17
Cubs selected the contracts of OF Owen Caissie and SS Ben Cowles from Triple-A Iowa.
Caissie boasts a sweet left-handed swing and was arguably the most notable prospect for fantasy purposes that needed to be shielded from next month’s Rule 5 Draft. The 22-year-old outfielder doesn’t possess elite over-the-fence pop, but he projects as a five-category fantasy contributor capable of pitching in across the board. He figures to be knocking on the door of the big leagues after finishing last season with a robust .278/.375/.473 triple-slash line with 19 homers and 11 steals in 549 plate appearances at hitter-friendly Triple-A Iowa.
