Jon Berti (calf) will move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre beginning Tuesday.
Berti has not performed well in his 10 games since his rehab assignment began with a .179 average and .609 OPS. The most important thing for the 34-year-old is getting reps, however, and he’ll likely get a handful more games in the minors before having a chance to be a part of the New York bench before the 2024 season comes to an end. Because Berti was on the roster before August 31, he can be a part of the playoff group.

Bo Bichette doubled twice and drove in a run in a loss Saturday to the Athletics.
Bichette is now tied for third in doubles with 25 on the season. The 27-year-old has been on fire over the past week, as this was his third multi-hit game since Monday. Bichette’s overall numbers are solid as well with a slash of .283/.325/.445, 53 RBI and 12 homers over 389 at-bats.
Players to watch in MLB All-Star Futures Game
James Schiano spotlights the rising stars to watch in this weekend's 2025 All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta.
  • ATH Left Fielder #25
Brent Rooker hit a two-run homer and doubled to help the Athletics to a 4-3 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Rooker smacked his 20th homer in the fifth with a two-run shot off Kevin Gausman. He also doubled for the 22nd time, and that two-bagger drove in a run to up his RBI total to 54. Rooker will be on display in the Home Run Derby, but there’s still one more game before that event to add to his impressive totals.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #19
Mason Miller struck out a pair in a scoreless inning to pick up a save versus the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Miller walked Joey Loperfido and Loperfido advanced to second base on a bunt by Nathan Lukes. Miller was able to keep that runner from advancing by striking out Ernie Clement and George Springer to secure the win for the Athletics and push his save total to 18. There have been some real clunkers for Miller in the first half, but in terms of just pure upside, there aren’t many relievers better. There may not be any.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #57
Jacob Lopez struck out five over five innings of two-run baseball in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Lopez gave up a solo homer to Leo Jiménez and an RBI double to Bo Bichette, but outside of that he was effective, and much improved from his shaky outing against the Giants on Sunday. The 27-year-old has held his own with a 4.20 ERA and 69/21 K/BB ratio over 55 1/3 innings, and he should remain a member of the Athletics’ rotation to begin the second half.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #34
Kevin Gausman was shaky in a loss to the Athletics on Saturday while allowing four runs — three earned — over five innings.
It was Gausman’s final start of the first half, and it wasn’t a terribly effective one. He did give up an unearned run, but he also only struck out two against two walks, and gave up a two-run blast to Brent Rooker. The 34-year-old was once a fantasy ace, but he hasn’t pitched that level over the last year and a half. He’ll enter the break with a 4.19 ERA and 104/35 K/BB across 109 2/3 innings, and he’ll likely make his first start of the second half next weekend against the Giants.
  • LAA 1st Baseman #18
Nolan Schanuel went 3-for-4 with an RBI in a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Schanuel also drew a walk to make it a four-reach day. The 23-year-old first baseman has driven in 40 runs over the Angels’ first 94 games, and he’s slashed a solid — if unspectacular — .278/.368/.405. The floor for Schanuel is high. The ceiling is very much a question mark.
  • ARI 3rd Baseman #28
Eugenio Suárez homered twice in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
The Diamondbacks have been a disappointment in 2025. Suárez has not. The pair of solo bombs gives him 31 roundtrippers on the season — with both coming off Yusei Kikuchi — and he also scored another run after drawing a walk. Suárez is not the defensive player he was a few years ago, but that offense is going to make him one of the most intriguing players who could possibly be moved before the end of July.
  • LAA Center Fielder #27
Mike Trout homered and drove in four runs in a 10-5 win over the Diamondbacks for the Angels on Saturday.
Trout’s 17th homer of the 2025 campaign gave the Angels a 6-2 lead in the fifth. The future Hall of Famer drove in two more with a single in the eighth to make it 10-5 and put the game out of reach. Trout is hitting just .236, but the .471 slugging percentage and .359 on-base mark have been nice to see over the first half of the 2025 season.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #16
Yusei Kikuchi allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Kikuchi was far from dominant, but didn’t have to be with Zac Gallen performing inadequately in his five innings. The 2025 All-Star struck out five, but gave up a pair of homers to Eugenio Suárez and an RBI single to Randal Grichuk. The last two starts weren’t overly impressive, but Kikuchi has had an excellent first half with a 3.11 ERA and 115/49 K/BB ratio over 20 starts and 113 innings. His next appearance will likely take place at the All-Star Game in Atlanta on Tuesday.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #23
Zac Gallen allowed six runs over five innings in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
Gallen was excellent over his last two starts and appeared to be turning a corner, but Saturday was another lackluster effort for the 29-year-old. He struck out only three before leaving, and he gave up eight walks and two walks while seeing his ERA bump up to 5.40 in his final outing before the All-Star break. Gallen is a good bounceback candidate for the second half, but fantasy managers who invested a mid-round pick in Gallen have the right to be concerned and disappointed.
